If you have been having a rough time lately, and you want to talk, you should go see the counselor. They are there to help. Talking about things can help lift the weight off your shoulders.

It is always worthwhile sharing your worries with somebody responsible such as a counsellor, if you were worried about missing class to see the counsellor, you could either try and arrange a time outside of class or during a study period or a class which is less important. It's upto you anyway, but I'd strongly recommend you go.
Btw, if you need help we can offer help and advice on more specific issues here on virtual teen too, although seeing a counceller is always a good decision. :)

It's your choice. If you talk to your counselor then you'd have to arrange a time usually once every week that you go and see them, so you shouldn't be missing much. It might be a good idea to talk to her/him, keeping everything to yourself isn't a good idea and they might be able to give you some practical advice on how to sort things out.

I see no reason not to. They are there to help.

From personal experience, school counselors suck. I guess it depends on where you go, though. It's all up to you. If they seem nice enough and you can trust them, then go for it. That's their job. However, in all my experiences with school counselors (all three) they stink when it comes to personal issues. It's your call though.

It's always worth going to your councilor if you're having problems.

I have to back Beth on this one.
If you're having a mental breakdown and you simply need someone to talk to, by all means. But I very much recommend against letting a school counsellor fuck with your life. Trust me, I deeply regret it.
If it's more than bullying and peer pressure, ask your parents for a therapist. School counsellors aren't trained to handle real problems.
