John Fahey is better than all of those classic rock guitar players by a million. Get on his level, kids. Playing guitar isn't all about stupid wankery solos.

For you to have Jack White and Vic Fuentes on this list is an insult to guitarists. What they do might be good for the music they play, but if you consider them on your list of "top guitarists", I question what music you listen to.

My Top 5:

1. Jeff Beck
2. Eric Johnson
3. John Petrucci
4. David Gilmour
5. John Fruciante

haha, nah man.

Jack White and Vic are hardly talented guitarists. They have done nothing that stands out as innovative, nothing that has been musically challenging, or anything that a guitarist would look at and say is really odd. So yes, man.

Also, I can't believe I left possibly one of the greatest guitarist of all time off my list (slipped my mind). Guthrie Govan is simply amazing.

I can see your point, but I didn't mean to imply that they did musically challenging parts, or anything like that. I included them because they both (in my opinion) write parts that serve the songs amazingly well. I love the weird sounds Jack makes, (which I always thought were odd at first) and I love the musicality in PTV's music, and I think they always evoke strong emotion when they play. I dunno...agree to disagree?

btw, Guthrie is amazing.
