yes thats correct.. a person who is transgendered refers to themselves as the opposite gender.. will sometimes undergo a sex change.. and change their name

I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but. A heterosexual transgendered person would be for example... A FTM to likes women. Or a MTF who likes men. I think. That's my outlook on it anyway.

Gender identity and sexuality may be independent of each other. You could be a man attracted to a woman that feels that he should be a woman. That would be a Lesbian in the end.

ok maybe I can help a bit. I am a female to male, I like men, I identify myself as a gay male because my mind is telling me to look at myself as a male. a male to female would be lesbian if they liked girls. that's how I see it. now go with my opinion or not, but that's just how I see it.

It's not really to do with genitals, it's about identity and expression. If a man, regardless of biological sex, is attracted to women, than he is a heterosexual. Gender and sex are related, but NOT the same. Heterosexuality isn't defined as 'a person with a penis attracted to people with a vagina' or vise versa, it's defined as 'a man attracted to women' or vise versa. So, if the transgender male is attracted to women, he is heterosexual.
Hope this makes sense.

I think it's simple you can be born a boy, feel like a girl in a boy's body, and be attracted to females. Same thing for girls. A girl can be born a female, identify as a male, and be attracted to males. I'm not to educated on transgendered people and what it means to be transgendered so I hope I got it right.

Being a trans*gendered person, one of the few on VT I know, I thought I'd throw my in my two cents.
Like someone already said, if you're a FTM transgender and like women, you're straight, just like a MTF who likes men is straight. It's not genitalia, it's gender. In fact, I know two transwomen who are together, and are lesbian.
