Today at school the hot water heater for the guys locker room went out I guess while I was in PE because when we got done with class and went to shower there was no hot water but we were already naked and in the showers and no one wanted to go through the rest of the day sweaty and smelly so when the water wasn't getting warm we finally jumped under the cold water to get wet then jumped back our to soap up and then back in to rinse. It was obvious that almost all the guys junk shrunk up in the cold water but me and a few other guys got total hard (for the first time ever in the showers at school!) when the cold water hit. What does cold water do to your stuff? Does anyone know why most guys shrivel but a few of us got boners?

The cold water shocked the skin and an excess amount of warm blood was brought to the cold area in an attempt to "warm it up", and we all know what causes an erection: excess blood filling the tissue in our penis.
So basically in an attempt to warm your penis up and stop it from becoming a penis-sickle, your body engorged your penis in warm blood which inadvertently caused an erection.

Either that or OP loves watching naked dudes jump around in cold water.

Well said... It's the blood, the water triggered it.

At first it causes an erection for me, but eventually does the opposite.

Just temperature sensitive, swimmers have the same problem.
