Okay i do some mountain bike racing i do it about once every 4-6 weeks. Each race costs my parents (i dont pay) around £60 my *freind* said this makes me spoilt and i should feel bad on my parents. I said "well i dont feel bad because i am always very greatfall towards it and give all my thanks ". my view is that once i start taking what my parents do for granted and just give them a small thanks then im spoiled and should feel bad.

But my question is should i feel bad and give up what i love doing becuase i cant aford to pay for it, and my parents have to for me. What my *freind* has said has realy pissed me off. please tell me what you guys think and be honest what should i say to my freind or how should i change please be honest :what:

How old are you? How much do your parents make combined per year? And who cares if you are spoiled or are called spoiled? As long you aren't a brat it's fine.

Well you could always get a job, but especially if you are an only child your parents should have plenty of extra money to spend on you. I wouldn't say spoiled with the current information though.

I don't think you should give up something you love just because someone tells you you're spoiled. People will say a lot of stuff, especially out of jealousy. It doesn't sound like your racing is causing your family financial hardship. If it was, my advice might be different.

Good luck in your racing, and I love the username.

you aren't spoiled. You are just lucky. I come from a pretty poor family and i am a wrestler. wrestling tournaments cost anything from $10 to $50. I am super happy i can do what i love. I also mountain bike but not competitive biking. What style do you ride? downhill, Freeride, cross country or enduro?
