Do catheters hurt?

Curious about of they hurt as much as my brother was making out at the hospital yesterday? Wasn't easy how they put them in but idk if they'd hurt that much

I can imagine they may hurt more for a male, my cousin had one after an operation and she said it didn't hurt, that it was just an uncomfortable feeling

Yes they do hurt a lot! I had to do a bladder xray a couple of yrs back and it was not fun at all

Sticking a tube, up through a (smaller than) pea sized hole sounds pretty painful. The penis is very sensitive, and aren't like bigger holes than the vagina.

yea it hurts down the pee hole it goes very uncomfortable . when they pull it out is the bad part it burns . Just had one last week ouch ! why they need one?? are they ok hope so .

They hurt so bad as a kid. I had to get a lot of them because of my kidney/bladder problems. I think as you get older, they can put you on anesthesia though, and it doesn't hurt. But they can't when you're a kid.

There are two types. One is invasive, and is a tube that is fitting into the opening on a guys penis, that hurts... The other types is more like a condom, it's an air tight latex bag of sorts, with a tube at the end from which the fluid is drained, those kinds are usually used for younger people.

Its like a small long tube like thing that once insterted into the penis or vagina, goes into the bladder to help a person go to the bathroom if they can't, or for x-ray purposes.

I had one apparently during my surgery but they take it out before I woke up so I wouldn't know, but my friend when he had surgery he had to get one in, and they didn't take it out, because he couldn't move for while, but once they did, he said it hurt really bad.
