I'm a waste of space. For group therapy, we have to come up with goals and try to follow through with them. My goal was to not cut for a month. It'll be a month on Febuary 6th. The urges aren't that bad anymore, but there's another feeling I'm getting. It's as if where I usually cut is getting all hot and I just feel like I need to do it. I could do it and then lie about my goal.

I've had a really bad day. I was up until 5 this morning, and my head hurts from crying. I'd love to take a nice hot bath, but in the back of my head I feel like I should cut while I'm in there. I guess Im rambling....I don't know anymore. :(

Don't do it man, I'm trying to quit so I know how hard it is but just try not to do it. I've heard it helps if you draw a butterfly where you want to cut and name it after someone special to you so if you cut it the butterfly dies. Or you can people the things you use to cut into a box decorating with pictures of loved ones, things you love and inspirational words and stuff. Good luck!

That happens to me too! I haven't cut for a few weeks and it feels like there's this itching/burning on my arm where I usually cut. And you shouldn't cut. I know that isn't a great statement but it is the truth. You will feel so much better if you don't. You'll start being happier. I have a friend who's in group and she said it really helped so hang in there girl!

Group is pretty helpful. My first group went fine, it's the second whole new group with new people that isn't going well. I feel like because I've cut for four years, I'm addicted.

Random thought but this just reminded me I still have bloody gauze hidden in my room 0_o I should probably get rid of that. And what is it that triggers you to cut?? Ik mine is usually just too much stress or emotional pain.

Anything, it's usually out of the blue. My friends telling me I was uwanted, flashbacks, being yelled at, depression, anxiety. All of it. Yeah, getting rid of that would be a good idea. I usually cut my stomach and thighs. That means no swimming.

That sucks:( maybe just try sleeping. I always try to just not think about it. Some times I'll wake up in the morning feeling so happy and then realizing it was because I cut... It kinda takes away the happiness. Just try to hold out :)

@lifeguardd3 - I would throw it away because if you slip up and start cutting you may need that if something happens

Don't cut, just wait it out to make yourself feel proud that you did it, but if you happen to slip up tell them and yourself that you tried your hardest and you almost made it

I took a hot bath for my joints and while I was in there my mom knocked on the door and asked if I was still alive. I'm hopeless.

Hey man, i'll be honest with you. I have never cut. But I have gotten super close to it, and i mean, close as in my blade is on my skin and starting to dig in. One way to help you not cut is just getting ride of all your blades or anything you can cut with and also removing anything that could trigger you(ex. pictures). But the reason you have the hot feeling on where you use to cut, is because of your mental process(usually thinking of it or touching it) it is also due to the fact that you are giving up your addiction(in a way) so your body is trying to tempt you again. Another way to not cut is get involved with a new activity that you have never done while you use to cut as that could trigger you. like i read a book on a young person who has summited everest, he gave up mountian climbing as his dad died and his dad was his largest supported(he gave it up so he didn't injure himself form a memory.

But just stay in there.

You are so close to fulfil your goal, just hold on a few more days.
As several people said, get rid out of the blades or anything you cut with. One ting that works for me is, put an elastic on your wrists and when you want to cut, splash it.
PS I'm not sure if its called elastic, sorry for my English.
