Hello, VirtualTeen. My name is Jorge, I'm 17 and it's my first time here.

So, here's what happening: I'm a 17 years old teenager going through puberty, and it's being really tough. I'm an extremely insecure, lazy, aggressive and stubborn, and as stupid as it may sound, I'm the only one in my group of friends who is like this, so I feel kinda lonely when I'm around them... They're all happy and full of life, they are all more confident than me, they don't have problems talking to girls, they're all dating, excepto me. As I said, I'm the only insecure, shy, half empty of life in my group of friends. Is this just a phase I'm going through? Will my current problems ever get solved? I'm really afraid I'll stay like this for the rest of my life :(

Welcome :)
You sound anxious. Do you take any meds?

Yeah, I think it's just a phase. I mean puberty can be really tough and you're right smack in the middle of it. (for you) Your friends probably dealt with the same thing you are now a few years ago or have yet to go through it. There is a medical name for it. I just can't come up with it. But yeah it's just a phase. All the best,

-Rob

So, you're saying this will be over as soon as I turn 20 or something?

Yeah, 19 or 20 for most people.

It's a phase. After another couple years, even within the next year, those feelings will fade and you'll feel better. :3 I promise it'll get better.

I needed to hear that, thanks, but sometimes it seems like it's never going to end, and my friends don't make it easier, I can't even talk out my problems with them because they don't seem to have passed through this phase, and tease me because of it...

Well if you need to talk I'm here. I've had many problems similar to yours and I am living proof they end. If you need a friend, lemme know :3

Well, I guess the best I can do is hold on and hope it will be over soon...
How old are you, Kriss?

When you were going through this phase, did you ever overthink on something? It happens very often with me, and it's inevitable sometimes...

Bud, I still do. It's very easy, and common, to really overthink things. That's a natural kijd of,i guess I could say paranoia. I do it frequently and a lot I freak out over what I'm overthinking. Sometimes it's even nothing. But after a while it becomes easy to stop. Although it's unavoidable at times.

What about creating too much expectations?
Sorry, it's just that none of my friends seem to have gone through this and make me feel like I'm a freak, just that...

Life gets better and I know people say that but its true. Just work at being more sociable and things will get better.

It's kinda hard for me to be sociable. I'm the archetype of awkwardness, shyness and introvertedness...

Everyone's different. Maybe you will open up later than others so yeah, it's just a phase :)

I always wanted to be different than the rest, but WHY did I have to be different in the bad way? Why? You know, I really hope it's just a phase, I don't think I can make it if this goes on through the rest of my years...
