Do not worry. You will be getting an IV to put you out, and that will feel like a regular shot u get at the doctor. The catheter will only be in during the surgery i presume, and nothing should hurt afterwards. You may feel some aches and stuff, but the doctors know what they are doing. They will take care of you and give you pain beds for the first week or so. It will all be over before you know it, and remember, you will be fine. Feel free to share your feelings, i know that when I am worried sharing my feelings is the best thing to do.
Stay Strong my friend!

I don't think that they should keep the catheters/cannulas in too long, and once they are in they don't hurt :) ... I think that the scariest part is the surgery it's self, as you said, if you are not too scared of that then, you will be fine :) ... Good luck !!!! :)

Ive had similar. It is sore for a long time but the pain meds you get knock most of the pain away. It was scary at first but then was fine.

It was sore for 10 days or so. Supposed to keep off of it for 6 weeks. After 4 I could balance without weight on it.

I hope you recover quickly and easily. It is always different. The first time I broke my foot it healed in a month, but the second time it took 8 months hope you heal as quickly as possible. Listen to the doctors about everything. I didn't listen about pt and now i can put my arm above my head and my friend can't row anymore b/c he stopped using his crutches 2 weeks early. Be careful and listen well. Good luck.
