If by 'private pictures' you mean nude or explicit pictures the answer is no. If you post or PM pictures of that nature, you'll be banned from here permanently.

Pictures that are "clean" are allowed. If you can show it to your grandmother, then it's probably alright to be posted here. Use your judgment.

Yeah, there's a section in TWPR (The White Padded Room) for that. Its stickied at the top of the page. But as Anthony said, keep the pictures clean.

In fairness it's just peoples preference. Like myself I have no bother showing pictures of myself. I would also be very free in giving out personal information in regards to myself. But thats just me.

Now I am not suggesting that everyone start giving out personal information about themselves, you have just got to act within your comfort level. If you are comfortable posting a picture of yourself, then do it. If you are not then its your own choice and either way there is no right or wrong option.

But for those people who would like to post a picture of themselves we do offer them that facility.

I was talking about like "nude private" pictures. In general, I don't have a problem either, as long as its not nude, or "distracting" to others.

Well "nude" or explicit pictures are strictly prohibited anywhere on VT. We have a zero tolerance approach to it. It is an immediate permanant ban. No second chance.

But again, "private" pictures are allowed, as long as you mean pictures of you and your friends/family/etc., with clothes on of course.. :P
