'User report' option

So, what about it? A report button, as for PMs, posts, et cetera, but somewhere on user profiles. For example, if somebody spots a user (from the chat, or whatever) that hasn't made a post infringing on the rules...
I mean, people that put 'masturbating' (for an example) in their hobbies/interests. Or somebody from the chat, and so on. A button on user profiles that enables us to directly report a user from that page (useful for people who might be unsure of who to contact)

I think this sounds like a good idea and to my knowledge it isn't too tough to implement.

and it would help mods catch spammers and trolls faster instead of individually reporting posts

There might not be a mod for this...but I do like this idea. If it's not possible, though, one can always PM an admin about a user...

The OP/Matt has done that in the past, and that's kind of why he suggested this. It's just more efficient both for the reporter and the mod, if the report system is built in to profiles instead of having to send a PM.

It can be requested to be made (I think an admin has to do that)

I found a thread in the vB site with someone requesting the same thing. http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=280479. That's about it...

(EDIT: looking through it, someone seems to have posted a code to add a link to the profiles that send a PM. Also, I see the mod "EasyForms" so that can be used)

While requesting is always an option. It generally would be less hassle overall and report it to a mod. I mean it literally takes a minute to copy a profile link, and then PM a mod and say take a look at his profile.

We actually tried a modification like that, but it was really buggy. So we disabled it.

well, a few posts above this one, it was discovered that we used to have one, but it was disable as it was buggy.

I have to agree, I don't see a point for it. If any problem occurs, moderators/admins exist for a reason.
