My friend Josh asked me if I wanted to go on a ski trip with him north to a place called Spirit Mountain in Duluth, Minnesota that would be through his church. I am excited for the skiing and the hotel stay. However, there was a mass email sent out that was telling people to bring their Bible. My family isn't what you would call the church going religious type. It's out of luck that my mom could fish a Bible out of a cupboard. Anyways, I don't know ANYTHING about Christianity. I just really don't know what to do when they start praying or ask me to open to (Insert ratio looking thing here.). Help?

Just be honest. I'm not sure how open this church is, but say that your upbringing was not very religious and ask that you not be put on the spot by asking to read or anything. It really doesn't sound like these people are taking you on a ski trip that will turn into a TOTALITARIAN LABOR CAMP FOR A WEEK AND A HALF WITH MANDATORY PRAYER. At worst, they'll make you say grace. If you're worried, ask the people in charge ahead of time. Ask about the schedule and the involvement of religious elements.

Everything is going to end up okay.

to be honest, i googled the place and checked it out, and i got this information. i don't know how your religion or lack is, but even if i were an atheist, i think that going and just listening to a few prayers is worth it. just let josh know how you feel. you gotta tell him that you aren't the most religious and don't know much about it. i'm sure he won't mind.

just cuz all that stuff is available doesn't mean that is what you'll be doing all day. if it is a church trip i can promise a lot of it will be churchy stuff. is it just the youth that are going? like a youth retreat type thing or youth trip? if it's a church youth trip you will prolly have at least 2 hours of Bible Study each night. just ask you friend what the schedul is for the weekend. if it's just a little bit of holy moly then you can put up with it but if it's gonna be hours of day of trying to save your soul or whatever and only a little bit of skiing and stuff idk how much fun you will have since you aren't religious.

Like most people have said just be honest. Christian people love to teach non christian people about god. It won't be a big deal and it will be a great learning experience.
