Is it true that a lot of teenagers go through a bicurious phase, whether they are straight or gay? (Bisexual people are already bi-)
My friend said something similar to this and I took this as what she meant.

I'm not one for labels (like 'Bicurious'), but the fact is that 50% of all guys have a same-sex experience of some type to orgasm (this is a scientific fact that has been replicated many times, it's really accurate). So, we can say that at least half of all guys have some 'curiosity' that they've acted on.

That is a very surprising statistic. Can you tell me where you got it from? Not that I'm questioning it or doubting you but I'd just like to know.

No prob, Anthony! I'm happy to share. Look at the Kinsey studies, or the Master's and Johnson studies. Eventhough the studies were performed decades apart, the results were surprisingly similiar, suggesting a consistency thru time, which adds to their validity.

Also, are "bicurious" and simply "curious" interchangable words, or is it that you can be straight-curious or is curious/bicurious a separate sexuality or what
basically tell me what it means and stuff because i just confused myself :)

Ya, see ima gurl and sum ppl consider me bi and sum ppl consider me not. I would like do things with otha gurls but i'd neva go out with one. I probably would let a gurl eat me out, but i wouldnt return the favor. wen i see gurls, i always "check" em out and like compare myself to them to an extent. i think it's all normal for teens to go thruu that phase..

First, i haven't mastered all the technology here, so for Anthony, I'd add another research study, the Hite Report, which also confirms the 50% stat. All 3 are great studies which really provide insight into sexual behavior, and the stability of the findings really indicates that these behaviors are really a part of who we are.
OK, now I wouldn't endorse any of these behaviors, mind you, and just because alot of people do it and alot of it is normal, that doesn't mean you're not if you don't. What these studies say (and this is the important part) is that there's a lot of variability in human sexual behavior that is quite normal, even stuff we once thought of as not 'normal'.
I personally don't like 'bicurious' because 'Bi' is a gender identification that is more than just attraction, or behavior. 'Curiosity' is a better term, because it just suggests an inquisitiveness, a desire for more first hand info, about something. People who are curious (about anything) just want more data. People who are 'Bi' have their data and have come to some realization about themselves, their sexuality. 'Curiosity' suggests absolutely nothing about the far more complicated process of gender identification/sexuality.

Almost all teens go through a bi-curious phase where they question their sexuality, that's completely normal. :)
