View Full Version : Shaving chest

Ok so I have a problem/question. So I run track and most of the time I run shirtless like everyone else. I normally have a hairy chest so to look acceptable without a shirt, I shave my chest. Problem is though I find myself shaving it every day. And after 2 days in a row of shaving I get bumps and razor burn from it. Is there anything I can do to reduce my hair growth on my chest so I don't have to shave it every day?
Thank you very much.

How long will it prevent the hair from growing back?

If you want to shave your chest that's fine, but you don't have to shave it to look "acceptable". It's perfectly fine to have chest hair, especially if it's become a hassle for you to maintain.

Buy a body groomer from a department store or a pharmacy. They're safe than a razor. A lot of teens don't care about chest hair anyway.

yeah stop useing the razor, buy a hair removal cream or something, im a swimmer i use it before a big meet. It is really good, removes the hair for about a week and makes it thiner when it grows back. And bro be proud of your chest hair, it means you are a man.

for a start, you don't need chest hair to be a man, i have very little naturally, does that male me less of a man the the next guy, no it doesn't.

secondly you could try waxing it will hurt the first time but you will know what to expect the next time you do it. i think i remember from reading it somewhere that waxing lasts for about 3-6 weeks but it depends on the rate that your hair grows you could you a hair removal cream, i think they keep you smooth for a week or so, depends on the person. you could even buy a body groomer and just keep your self groomed.

tbh the more you shave, the faster it will grow. but i can sympathise with you cus i do it every so often. you could try shaving in the shower to avoid razor burn

Other than shaving you can try waxing, some guys do that, that makes the hair take a lot longer to grow back, I think?

Nono has terrible reviews of burns! It's burns you! As to why it is said to keep hair from coming back, it burns you!

A razor eh? This may work. I have a problem with the hair too.

What type of hair remover cream do you use? I use Nair and I also have an issue about the hair a lot.

Just curious, why do you shave your chest hair? I mean, it's perfectly fine if you do, but I don't get what you mean by to make yourself look more "acceptable." It is more than normal and more than acceptable to have chest hair. Men are naturally hairy. Some more than others, but all of guys are nonetheless hairy. You don't have to shave your chest hair to look more "acceptable." Again, you can it you want. I'm just curious what you mean by that...

I shave because it looks better without hair and I have found that it slightly improves my running time.

waxing would probably be best but if that is not an option than i guess try nair or something. i used to shave at first but it got to be too much of a hassle and i started getting more used to having chest hair.

Why don't you wax, that's what we do as swimmers.

No, and there are mature guys who naturally have no chest hair, though they seem to be a minority.

Nevertheless there seems to be a strange obsession for shaving among people on this site. People ask about shaving chests, happy trails, pubes etc. Add to that the questions about hiding bulges and it amounts to "I am embarrassed about maturing. How can I hide the fact that I am maturing into a man and continue to look like a boy?" And the answer of course is "You shouldn't. You should embrace the change"
