I've had this happen off and on for a few years I think. I just thought it was because my boobs were still developing and I know they are because I still get that aching pain in them and in a week or two, I've noticed they got a bit bigger.

I live in Colorado where I know the air is pretty dry, especially this week since it's been so cold. Right now it's 1 degree above zero.

I guess I'll try lotion on them and see what happens but I'm just wondering if others have this also.

Try and keep track of the pains, and also your period to see if there's a reoccurring coincidence. The menstrual cycle, not just the actual period, can make your nipples/boobs hurt. It can happen randomly, like menstrual cramps, and other aches and pains as well.

If it gets to where it's disrupting your daily life, then go to the doctor, and see if the doctor can prescribe you something to control the pain.

If you are worried either way, still no harm in seeing the doctor. If there is an underlying medical cause, they can find it, if there isn't and mother nature is just a bitch, then it will help soothe your mind.

Also, the material of your bra can irritate them as well. If you can, go a day or two, maybe three without a bra, over a weekend maybe, and see if it makes any difference with the itchiness. Your nipples might just be sensitive to the materials, and need a different kind. You can go to a professional bra fitting shop, and ask them what the gentlest bra material they have is.

Hope this helps.

i'm pretty sure what your talking about is fairly normal espesially if your still developing, I know when i was 13 mine always itched and the doctor told me it was because when new skin grows it can create an itching sensation. If the air is really dry it can cause the nipples to crack and when they heal they will itch so if this is the case i would use a good moisturizer on your breast and nipples after your bath or shower

Thanks for the answers. I never really noticed when the aches came and went during my cycle. I'll try the no bra suggestion this weekend and see if that helps with everything too.

I'm glad I found these forums!

just dry skin on account of the cold, try hand lotion with ALOE in it and it that doesn't work try cortizone itch cream. the cortizone should be fine on your nipples.

Unscented aloe Vera works too :)
I get this as well especially in the winter when I don't wear a bra and my breasts rub against my shirt. It's perfectly normal but a pain in the ass. Just use moisturizer it helps alot

Yeah no itching today finally! It seems like a combination of the dry cold weather and then taking a shower. I used to use lotion everywhere but I kind of got out of that habit when I started getting boyfriends.

That itching is annoying to say the least.

Jackie you got some good replies.A general helpful idea is to wash your clothing in non perfumed detergent.I has an issue with that.
