So ive been posting here a lot in the past month or so seeking answers about my depression but nothing has seemed to have a lasting effect. My depression has gotten to the point that ive now started cutting. They arent deep at all they just break a few layers of skin and are only as thick as the blade. I like using the sharp pointed edge to create more of a tearing feeling rather than the clean slicing feeling, i dont know why. I started just cutting about a centimeter long cuts, then i started inch long...and then all the way across my wrists and deeper than at first. Day two they got longer and deeper. That was last night...i just feel so exhausted now all the time because i have to slap a happy face on all day everyday so people's lives can go out like normal and i dont screw anyone elses life up even more.
Everything is just getting worse...much worse and very quickly and i dont know what to do.

Trust me, I know how you're feeling. I've had depression for around 10 years, and I've been cutting for 2. But cutting isn't the answer. I strongly advise you to find another way to release stress- cutting will only make your depression worse. Try drawing on your skin where you'd usually cut. That helps me sometimes.
If you ever need somebody to talk to, just post on my profile and I'll be there.
Best of luck! xx

You are not alone, but it's really important that you stop now because the more you do it the more you need to do it. Get rid of all sharps, and when you feel the urge to cut or hurt yourself do something else entirely. Write down what's bothering you. Do jumping jacks until you're too tired to do it. Personally, I take a shower to fight the urge because I almost always cut before I shower. So getting the shower over with closes the window of opportunity. For you, you could try going out where you're in public and therefore cannot cut.
I hope you don't keep cutting. At first it's a help but after a while it just makes things worse.
