It is normal and I agree with SirMazing trying to be cool and kidding around about it is proboly the best approach so the friend isnt too weirded out if he doesn't want to and if he says yes the situation wouldnt be so uncomfortable

honestly in my opinion just ask him straight up. If you want to compare with him you obviously trust him enough so why not just ask. Most likely than to he is also curious and wants to compare. When me and my friends did it we where about your age to...al we said has "hey, idk about you but ive been curious about something, how big are you, do you want to compare?"
P.S. if he sais no dont force it, just be like ohh okay then and move on, if he changes his mind he will atleast know that you are open with him and would not mind comparing, and if he sais yes well there you go. Have funn, be safe.

yeh i think wanting to compare with your best friend is normal. ......wanting to compare with your worst enemy, now that would be weird.
