Helping my friends

2 of my best friends cut. I want to help them quit.
I dont know why they cut but i intend to find out.
Both of these friends share my experieces with bullying and we are very open.
Please, any help would be appreciated.

A lot of people (including myself) cut because it makes them focus on the pain from cutting rather than the mental/emotional pain.
It is addicting and can be very difficult to stop.
Ask them to do something they enjoy every time they get an urge to cut. That's how I am kicking the habit.

Whatever you do DO NOT lecture them. That will not help them at all it will make it worse. There is no way of making a cutter stop they have to chose to stop on their own you can not force them. You could put them in a padded room and they would still find a way to cut.
