If it burns a little there are a couple of causes. First is some minor irritation, maybe you got some soap in there, maybe it brushed against your undies funny. The other is a urinary tract infection, lots of burning, and probably a fever, too.

Whatever the cause, if it continues for more than a couple of days, call the doc.

The other thing I've found is that sometimes what you eat can effect this. Darker urine might be the result of something strong that you've eaten, or that maybe you haven't had enough fluids?

The most famous home remedy for urinary burning (as long as it's not serious) is drinking cranberry juice for a while. The natural acid in the juice counteracts any changes in the Ph in the urine caused by diet, dehydration, etc. Try some. And enjoy that camping trip!

It does sound like a urinary tract infection. Darker urine usually means the acidic pH in it is high, hence the burning. Drinking cranberry juice is a good idea, but you should still go to the doctors to get something for it. :)
