Okay guys, I'm here to gather info needed to make a new linux OS called Lenerox, I want to know what you guys like Best in Windows, Mac, or any other OS you might be using, you can tell me this in the comments below,
Lenerox is a linux based operating System designed to be more apealing to it's users its currently in a phase that makes it look alot like mac OS X and I need to get it out of this phase.

So basically you take an unmodified Ubuntu, and just add some more software and themes?
I can do that, too.
A distribution is for when you want to take something and do several things differently, such as package management or leadership.
You usually only take a standard kernel and customise the software and theme when you want to distribute a specific setup to your users that you know will work out-of-the-box., such as for a software product.

no, I'm doing this all from scratch, I'm making the themes and everything. this is just what I have currently I want to gather info on what people like best in other Operating Systems and redo the looks from scratch if possible as well as a few other things.
Alot of applications and themes will be replaced.
And as for doing several things differently I have a few ideas in mind

You're making your own distro, no? It's not really a new operating system...you'll have to learn Assembly for that one.

actually I think I will use ubuntu as a model of the real deal, then using the Suse Studio I'll build a proper version and continue from there :)

great, just what linux needs, another distro to further fragment and divide its users... this is seriously not something you wanna embark on. Unless you have the required low-level knowledge of how Operating Systems work (Which, no offense, but I doubt) you aren't really gonna do anything that any of the billions of Window Managers, Skinners, etc. for all major Operating Systems can't do right now.

I think its fair bit of effort for something that already exists, don't you?

I don't think Suse Studio will give you want.
The customization skills lack, it's a neat aspect, especially that it's fully online... but how do you plan to load everything? Load your theme to the OS and run a script? I don't know.
