i mean i guess it depends. if you're talking about paris hilton, then i'd say no. if you mean like singers, actors, etc. then yes, if they're famous for a reason i'd say yes.

Assuming you mean those with talents (or any kind of performance career for that matter) then yes. They are employed by the industry to perform and they are paid for it. Definitely not the ones who are just famous for being famous, though.

According to my definition of celebrities, yes and no. Movie stars, singers, etc, are paid to sing/act/whatever, but what about YouTubers? They can be popular, but they don't...work for youtube. They don't all just pick up their bags and go like "ok honey going to San Bruno now see you at 5." Some popular people opt out of the payment system on youtube.

sorry if that doesn't make sense my head's racing right now

Yep. If they're famous for acting, singing etc.

They get up and go to work everyday and do their job, just like us. Only the pay is better.

Yes, I think that they are just basically employees. They're paid ridiculous amounts of money by the industry to do their ''talents'', like singing, acting, whatever.

In some tense yes. They are employees when they are working. I've always viewed someone to be "celebrity" when they become an idol for someone. For example you get terms like "Local Celebrity" "Fashion Celebrity"....basically any profession you can be a celebrity for. However you become an idol and have fans.

Many people wouldn't see David Vonderhaar who is the game designer for online multiplayer for call of duty black ops 1/2 and World at war as a celebrity. However to a group of people he is.

So yes they are employees however because they become an idol and well known by many or a group, they are deemed the title of celebrity.

Well basically, yeah. What they do is still classified as an "occupation" and they get paid to do it. That's basically what an employee is, they work, and get paid for it. Celebrities do the same thing, the only difference is they're famous for whatever they do.

Super famous people like Jim Caray, Eminem, and Will Farell are in my opinion because they are responsible to come up with good material. I mean if Eminem made an album called "Fuck You, Guys!" he would more than likely be done as a rapper. Or if Will Farrell started to be a really bad actor and not say his parts right then he would not be as good of an acter. Same goes for if you work at McDonald's. If you come in late and act disrespectful, you wont be an employee there for much longer. See what I'm getting at?
