So I can't wait! In about 2 weeks semester ends, and I start swim! I've never really swam before, but I am a fast swimmer though! (I think! haha) So what should I expect?!

Depends on your coach. You'll have everything from stamina training to technique clinics, lots of repetition of key skills like starting / turning which you may not have had exposure to (there are different ways of turning for each stroke). Some of our sessions have competitive heats, sometimes we pair up to peer coach which I quite like, you get a lot of good tips from that.
So yeah, exactly how the sessions are run depends on the coach but it is a bit like dance which I know you've done, in that there is a lot of 'fine tuning' with the technique of the various strokes that means you need to be very aware of what your entire body is doing all the time so some people are surprised by how much of it is mental focus.
You may find you are lacking in some stamina and strength in muscles you haven't used much before (again dancing translates pretty well in my experience). So in that case don't push yourself if you start feeling tension / pain it may mean you need to get advice on how to build strength in the gym so you don't 'overkick' or something and hurt yourself. Listen to your body, especially in the first few months.

expect long, hard hours of non stop swimming, at my school we do atlest 2miles everyday, 3200meters. We also focus on starts and finishes and have tons of stroke/turn clinics, also expect tough land workouts. it really deppends on your coach but either way it's a pretty tiring sport. good luck

i'm only in 8th gr. and our school doesn't have a swim team, our hs does and practices start easy and get gradually harder more into the season, i went to one middle of winter, i swim summers, so it was really hard to do everything, tho it wasn't any harder than what i do summers.
just be ready for long intense practices
