i usually masturbate externally and i know my hymen won't break then
but a few times i put my finger in to see what it would feel like
i think i've only done that like 3 times
and i never put anything else in
does that mean my hymen will break? because its a big deal in my culture:eek:

Hardly and expert on hymens or cultures, I'd venture a guess that the issue isn't if your hymen is intact, it's if you're sexually active. Your supposed to be a virgin in your culture, yes? That's determined by prior sexual activity.

In modern cultures, the hymen is often broken by physical activities or exertion, as well as thru the use of tampons. However, a virgin is a virgin is a virgin, regardless of the hymen.

yeah i'm suppposed to be a virgin
and i intend to be until marriage
its just that if it breaks. then there will be problems like they'll think i was a whore or something before i got married
lmao i know that sounds retarded but really...

Well then you just explain to them that you ARE a virgin, and that a hymen will break due to exertion or exercise just on its own (might not want to mention masturbation though :D).

There is no way to prove a girl is not a virgin without testing them, you can't just say, "Oh, you don't have a hymen, you've obviously had sex before", its actually true that most girls (especially those who participate in physical sports) lose their hymens before they have sex. Your hymen breaking off is definitely not a sign that you are not a virgin. As TCG said, you can explain to them it broke off during excercise, or you can be very vague and say it broke off during "strenuous physical activities", but not sex. :P

Like "when you were doing splits you felt a pain down there and it was gone" or something to that effect.

Hey UN, TCG ain't a bad nickname, eh? :D

It IS just an old way of thinking about virginity. Some girls are even born WITHOUT a hymen, and if you're born with a completely closed hymen the doctor will make a small hole in it ANYWAY. Tell them to think about it; how are you going to have your period if the "fully intact hymen" (which they think you need to have) is permanently closing your uterus? It has no basis in fact, and your parents should trust and believe you if you tell them these things (and say in all honesty that you have never had sex :D).

The more honest you are with your parents, the more likely they will believe you. If you are constantly honest with your parents, they will have no grounds to not believe you. If you're like me and you lie a lot, you may have trouble convincing your parents, but as TCG (yep, that is a pretty good nickname :P) said, you can always explain to them that it happened through excercising or through "strenuous physical activities" i.e. sports/gymnastics/dance/etc.

Exactly. My mom still thinks I'm just "mommy's little boy" and I'll stay that way forever. I think she would be shocked even to discover that I masturbate! That is, she probably thinks it normal, but could never imagine her "sweet little boy" ever doing such a thing :D
