I can honestly say I dotn need health whatsoever being that this one forum is more helpful than any health class that i have had. Does anyone else agree that Puberty101 or VT has been more helpful than school has been? I think its coz most people feel uncomfortable talking about it idk.

I don't necessarily agree; although I have to admit, if I was having a problem I would most likely post it on VT rather than go to my health teacher. You have to realize we do not discuss certain things that schools do, we do discuss the possibility of acquiring STDs and getting pregnant through vaginal sex, but in health its a lot more detailed. In health you also learn social skills, harms of drugs, etc., things you can learn on VT, but again, not to the extent of a health class.

I think both are good and serve different purposes. Health class gives you a broad overview of different subjects of health, not just puberty. Unless by health you mean sexual education. Because I know sex ed was only a unit of many topics covered in health.
Sex ed gives you a foundation of what you need to know (usually). I don't think it's going to provide all the ends and outs and all specific situations. But it's just a foundation of basic knowledge. It's unfortunate that it's so limited but that's the school system for you.
But I have learned a lot from this website. Not just puberty or the help and advice forums, but also in the VT Daily Chronicle, debate forum, etc. I sometimes wonder where I'd be now without VT.

Health class is limited due to class maturity. If the teacher feels like the kids may not take anything seriously, they may briefly talk about it and go on to the next subject. That is how it seemed at my school...

Teen Music Lover, this thread is old. Please don't post in threads which have not been posted in for a month.
