I hadn't heard that Adam quit, so bummed right now. I was hoping they'd tour the UK again soon seeing as they just brought out Transit of Venus but apparently not.

I love most of their songs from Three Days Grace and One-X. I never really got into Life Starts Now and Transit Of Venus isn't as good as their older stuff, although I do like Chalk Outline.

I love every song by them. I mean every one. Their song Pain is my favorite and the song that got me into rock music. They have helped me through a lot of my depression unlike any other band out here. I absolutely love their music.

No, he didn't really leave for health reasons, he just said that to not sound like an a-hole. Truthfully, he left because he didn't like where the band was headed creatively. He basically thought that recently all they had been doing is writing songs they knew would be hits, not really writing from the heart. He got sick of that, so he quit. That itself kind of annoys me, I mean he is the singer and main songwriter, if he didn't like where they were going, he definitely could have changed it instead of just leaving a band with millions of loving and adoring fans behind. But whatever.

He went on to basically say that, save for 1 or 2 songs, their most recent album Transit of Venus was written solely for radio. I mean if he was the one writing the songs, couldn't he have changed that? Basically, it just seems like he's trying to fuck up the rest of 3DG's career, and it's working. I think he could have at least been nice enough to go on a last tour with them instead of quitting right before the tour starts.

He's still gonna make music, just not with 3DG anymore.

And I like them because I love their lyrics, I can really relate to them. Adam has a fantastic voice, and the music does a good job of capturing the emotions they're trying to portray, and generally I just love their sound.

As far as Adam quitting, it really not fair to crucify him for quitting. You have no idea what all was going on. You have to remember that a band is a friendship and they have to have a good relationship to work well as a band and inspire each other. Maybe there's a problem with one of the band members, like they had a falling out, or Adam just needs to work with someone else. Perhaps he's not feeling inspired by his other band mate's and he needs new faces to work with. Or, maybe their styles are changing and it just doesn't feel right anymore. Maybe the kind of stuff he wants to write the band isn't in to, so he just ends up writing the typical 3DG song instead of a new style he'd like to try out. He could very likely be going through depression. Basically, you don't know the whole story, so you have no right to judge him. He's allowed to quit if he wants and he should be able to do so without people making him feel bad. Especially when you bring up him leaving behind his millions of adoring fans. I'm sorry if you feel abandoned by him, but it's his life, and if he isn't happy, he shouldn't be guilted into staying. That's unfair.

I'm just as sad as anyone about this, Three Days Grace helped through some tough times. The first song I learned on bass was Riot. They were one of the stepping stones for me for getting into rock and grunge and all that good stuff. They mean a lot to me. But they're just people who, like you and me, have the right to be happy. I still have the music that affected my life, it's not like I can't listen to it anymore. I'd rather them quit now than continue to make music I know they're unhappy with.

im gonna miss him... but now my boyfriend is critisizing me that im not a true fan because i dont approve of the new band member.. again nobody can replace adam.. hes one of a kind.. and seeing as he started three days grace.... the band will probably end up changing their name

Matt is a good singer and he's not the permanent replacement, he's just filling in for the tour. They might be done after that, who knows. Although I like Matt I think his voice fits MDD much better than 3DG, I think he was probably the best they could do on short notice.
