okay, so basically, im the sort of person who takes literally everything to heart. weather it be some baterous joking around, or actual arguments. and i just wanted to know if anyone could give me some tips on learning to "brush it off" and move on, and not take any of it seriously. another thing that happens is i play in goal whenever i play football im school, and i often get a lot of flak whenever i dont have a great game, and that kind of destroys my self esteem both on and off the pitch.. again, because im taking it to heart.
i apoligise if that was a bit jumbled and illegible, but.. can anyone give me some tips/advice?
thanks in advance
PS - moderators, i wasnt sure where to put this, so if its in the wrong area could it be moved to a more appropriate one. thanks

Don't let words get to you because most of the time people don't care to utter their words with consideration for others, they care to speak their mind, whether they've given it thought or not. Nobody's words should make you feel any less of yourself nor should they mean that much to you in the first place. Try to separate meaningful words, ones that express love, care, friendship, etc. and words that don't mean anything in the first place; they serve an entirely different purpose, thus giving them different value. So I'd suggest ignoring people who don't have anything good to say and try to respond positively to people who actually matter. Other than that just pay attention to the way you think about these things, that plays a big role in how you feel when your told something you dislike.

Ignore them. People most of time say words that they dont really mean or they say it in the wrong tone. I know most people who trash-talks just for fun so dont put those people's words into heart. Improve how you play and rub your game to their faces.
