okay so if your at a restaurant and the server is acting all flirty and stuff how do you know if that is just they way they are for all the customers cuz it's their personality,
or
they are just playing you so they might get a good tip if you are doing separate checks cuz your there with yoru friends. (i got no clue how it is working for a tip if you are there with your family and your dad is the one paying the bill)
or
they are sincerely being flirty cuz they are interested or think your cute or whatever.

and if it's #3, what should you do and remember you are not the only person at the table so whatever you do will be seen by the other people at the table.
edit: this happened tonight and i didn't know what it meant and didn't know what to do so i didn't do anything. but i can't stop thinking about it and if i knew what to do different i would go back to the same place again and hope to get the same server. do they let you request certain servers?

From my experience it's usually #2 and sometimes they're very desperate. I went to go to the bathroom when out with my boyfriend and oh boy when I got back. Guess whose waitress had magically unbutton two of her shirt's buttons, whose skirt seemed to "accidentally" keep "riding" up, guess who suddenly became hard of hearing and had to lean over the table to hear my boyfriend's request and suddenly had a new found love for the word Uhm or Oh me too! Bitch got both our drinks dumped on her when she didn't listen to him saying back-off.

The only sure way to tell is to somehow get her number and meet with her. Get a feel of who she really is because like you said, she's either doing it for her job or it's her nature. Just can't see a way to distinguish which is which right now, so my best advice is try to get to know her.
