This is a question here.

No I don't really think so. I mean you can meet the nicest, happiest person ever and they could be wearing goth clothes. And you could meet a really sad, depressed person who wears preppy clothes. I think your interests affect the clothes you wear much more. If you like Marilyn Manson and things like that your probably not going to shop at Hollister.

To some extent, I'm sure. From people I know, some of them choose their clothes based on experiences they've been through that have moulded them into a certain way. I'm generally a pretty tidy guy and it does reflect on my clothes :)

To be fair alot of people in England just seem to copy others , but the popular guys over here seem to be wearing Nike Airs and they all look like dicks.

Interesting question. I am very shy, but I will go for the full on scene look or clothes that make me feel sexy sometimes because it makes me feel good and not so much in the background of things. So its almost like compensating for not being confident makes me dress confidently by making a statement
I think some people don't care about appearances but then that could be because they have no imagination, or are deep and not worried about image.
So no, I don't think you can judge a book by its cover, and you can't read too much about someone's personality from their looks. They may just be faking it, like me :P

Yes and no, maybe. A flirty person could be dressed as a nun as much as they could be dressing like a Sidewalk Sally. A person angry at the world a good amount of time, cranky puss, may be dressed in blacks and reds more than they are yellows and polka-dots though

I think that it just depends... some people more than others

Well, this question can't really be given a definitive "yes" or "no" answer, simply because everyone is different. For some people, yes, their personality has an effect on the way they dress, and for others, it doesn't.

It's true to some extent. Choosing a particular colour depends partly on personality. Type of clothes is in this category as well

I think so. I am a guy with kind of multiple personalities based on the people I am with, and to go with that I will wear different clothes around different people. So I think yes.

interesting question. I think personality plays a part in our fashion choices, but I also there are other factors at work which ultimately lead to an unconscious style decision.

Yes, I'd say so.
Depending on whether the person is more outgoing or not. However, Id say that If the individual had an interest in fashion then they would feel more confident wearing a new style.
Therefore, they might not see it as a point of weakness. So, depending on their confidence and any ongoing interest, I'd say yes.

I think it does in a way. Like you see most skater people personality buy skater clothing, and happy preppy personalities buy colorful clothes. You wouldn't find a gothic person wearing neon clothes with bunnies! So I think our clothing shows our personality to an extent.

Definitely, my alter ego usually picks out my clothes.

I think it does but also it is probably affected by the people you live around and your environment. For example there is a group of people at my school that when they are outside of school wear the same brands as each other and dress nearly exactly the same

For me, yes. When I'm in a really good mood, I tend to wear more reds and yellows. If I'm feeling down, I wear more blues and black.

your personality definintely has to do with how you dress.
like how i dress very relaxedly, and also very lightly is absolutely indicative of my personality.

It is not always right and you can not say forcefully that personality affects the kind of clothes all time. Personality is always measured by the person's IQ and body language not by dressing, but yes, while interview timing your dress code should be professional for sure which surely affect your personality.

I dont think Nice people wear cool clothes and smartasses wear bad clothes, so in that point, no.
I do believe that your personality affects the way you dress. Me for example. I LOVE cars and the F1 world and I'd kill for a Williams or Ferrari Shirt or sweater. You know, that kind of personality :P

I'm pretty sure, for the most part, personality effects choices in clothes. You wear things, well, most people wear things based on what they want, based on their style, which is all an extension of your personality. Example, I'm not very girly, so I don't pick a lot of skirts and dresses to wear. I'm shy, so a lot of my clothes aren't going to be as flashy, like bright colors.

I think this varies. Personally, with me, I go back and forth. I'm very self conscious about my weight, but I usually wear either tight jeans or basketball shorts and tight shirts. I hate wearing black, but I'm actually quite depressed a lot even thou I don't tell anyone, and people can't tell. I usually wear white or blue, my favorite colors. My friend becka is a very odd and fun person, and she always dresses like a hobo in sweatpants and large shirts. My girlfriend is the same way but she wears skinny means and any random shirt. I have some feeling shes self-conscious about something because she seems to always wanna wear a jacket she can hide in.

To some extent, I think. Personally, I'm very introverted, seclusive, and shy, so I tend to wear baggy jeans and sweatshirts every day. Nothing too eye-catching.

You can tell a lot about a person by the clothes that they wear, but only loosely so.

I have to say that it definitely does, just like the type of music you listen to also contains personality as a factor. For instance, if you like the color green, then you're more likely to wear a green shirt. If you're very comedic then you're going to wear shirts that have funny sayings, and so on.
As for me? I have a very carefree personality when it comes to my looks. I don't care too much about what I wear, as long as it's not name-brand and really trendy. I'm not a trendy person, therefore I don't wear trendy things. I tend to go with what I want, and not with the crowd at all. I'm the type that jokes around a lot to be carefree, so I wear funny shirts with funny sayings.
The same goes for skinny jeans. If you're a shyer person like I am, or you dislike being trendy, you're less likely to wear them than others that are trendy and outgoing. Another thing to consider are piercings. Some people enjoy piercings and believe it's an extension of their personality because it shows that they're unique in their own way.
Personality can have a different amount of influence depending on the person. Like she said up there ^^ it can only be a loose interpretation of a person's personality, as it's only an extension and therefore you can't pinpoint the roots.
