So I've been depressed for a while now but that's not what this is about really, what this is about is my cutting. Because of my depression I started to cut a little while ago but I want to stop now and was just wondering if anyone had any
advice.
Also, if you have any ideas on ways I can cope with the depression itself feel free to post them.

Do you know why you cut?

No, not really. I don't know why I started or why I do it, I just get an urge to when I'm really depressed and the urge stays until I cut, then I feel a bit better for a while

what runs through your thoughts when you are depressed and/or cut?

For the cutting no one thought is present in my head, its more of a feeling or an urge that makes me feel the need to do it. As for the depression it usually only happens when I'm alone, so the thoughts in my head are usually how I'm alone and the things I hate about my life

I used to self harm as well. I understand why you cut yourself. The physical pain is much bearable than what you are feeling inside. At the back of your mind, you thought its a release maybe? Stop it while your scars are still few. Its kinda ugly haha. In the short run cutting did help me but in the long run its kinda tainting. Well, I overcome my depression by reading novels. fictionpress, wattpad and hard books did help me. It keeps me distracted and busy. Also, I have physical activties such as dancing and MMA. That way I have no room for loneliness and im too worked up to cut myself. I hope you can make it.

I've had depression for 10 years and I've been cutting for 2. Trust me, this isn't the path you want to go down.
If your depression usually hits hard when you're alone, try to avoid being by yourself. Stay in the same room as someone as long as you can. Keep yourself busy and don't let your mind wander to those dark places. Go running, do something to keep your hands busy, anything that keeps you occupied. Another thing that sometimes helps me is drawing on your skin where you'd usually cut. Take your frustration and pain and put it into something beautiful. If you continue cutting things will only get worse, and you don't deserve that.
Hope this helps you, and if you ever need to talk to someone I'm here.
Best of luck! xx
