Does anyone know if there's a rule to the age gap between you and your partner in australia? Or is it up to your school? Because I don't know anyone I would take from my year. The only person I can think of will be in year 8 when I'm in year 11! We are only 2 years appart in age but the gap still seems huge!

I don't think there is an exact rule, although if a extremely obvious age gap is present, say when the older person hit puberty early, and the younger person late, the school may be a bit iffy, but I don't think they'd say refuse to let them in. There are no laws on age gaps in formal dates.
Two years is nothing. Many year 12's plus one at my school was at least one year younger, some probably a lot more. My school has never had a problem, but if you are freaking out, I would ask someone who is involved in the planning just to make sure.
