Well, I thought I would be when I went early in 2012 but it was no big deal.

It didn't really bother me when my doctor was male but now my mother switched my doctor and I have a female doctor. I think getting a physical exam will be awkward with a woman performing the examination.

Why the hell would she pull your foreskin back??? She really has no business doing that, she should just be checking for hernias and stuff.
To the OP, no I don't get embarrassed because I never get physicals or anything that would warrant me being embarrassed in front of the doctor.
I only go to the doctor when I'm sick, and only for treatment of that illness.

I never had a yearly check up. I go to the doctor when I am ill. With a problem down there I would prefer a male doctor though.

I was, but the last time I went in, I was surprisingly open about it. I guess a matured a lot over the past year. I knew that he wasn't gonna look at it and laugh or anything, so I didn't feel uncomfortable about it. They are just making sure you are healthy

physicals are a part of growing up. and believe me, they only get more interesting the older you get. especially if you join the military;) But really, nothing to worry about! even if you get a boner. really. its not something they havent seen before. and you can ALWAYS request a male examiner. thats perfectly ok!

Nothing to be embarrassed about. It's a doctor, regardless of whether it's a man or a woman.

Nah I remember getting a boner like a couple of years ago and I was kinda embarrased and the doc could tell and was like, hey don't sweat it, if i had a dollar for every time that happened to someone during an exam I would be retired on a beach in the bahamas by now..... it's just a sign yr body is working normally and yr penis still has a perfectly good mind of its own like they normally do.
I don't worry about it now..... it does what it does :)

I do think these physicals are a bit awkward, and I need to get one soon for next year's x-country team... Btw, doctors know guys are prone to getting an erection when touched certain places, even if we're not horny so it's all good. THEY'VE SEEN IT ALL.

Yeah I do feel uncomfortable and awkward. I haven't gotten a full-on physical for a while but I really hated them when I would get them.

Ya I do, esp if there are a lot of people in the room besides the doctor. The last time I was so nervous I was actually sweating so much It ran down my side as I stood.
