Hi.
I am 14, 5'9' and I am overweight (or obese).
I weigh 225 pounds.
That means my BMI is 33 or so (obese).
For the new year, I decided that me and my sister will exercise and go on a diet.
We'll go to the gym at least 5 times a week or every day if possible.
To speed up my weight loss, since I want to hit 190 pounds or so (or ANYTHING under 200!!) I decided to go on a diet pill as well.
I just took my first pill of Zantrex-3 about an hour ago. I would've taken 2, but I want to see if I have any side effects yet, which I haven't so far, and it's been about 45 minutes.
Anyway, I was wondering if this could stunt my growth? Especially of my penis?
I heard that when you lose weight, sometimes you even get taller, or when you lose weight, it's easier for your body to actually grow.
I just started puberty about a year ago as I had a huge growth spurt from 5'4 to 5'9 in about a year.
Anyway, my penis is only about 3 inches, and 4.5 inches when erect or so.
I don't want this to stunt my growth and am kind of worried, but I do want to put off the weight. I can do it without the pill, but with the pill, I think it'd be easier as it provides energy boost + metabolism boosters.
The box does say do not use if under the age of 18.

By the way, I am also taking a multi vitamin, which I know is totally harmless. :yummy:

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it stunting your growth hun. From what I've read, that's not a side affect of the medication, and it certainly wouldn't stunt any sexual growth you'll be doing. I do want to say that as puberty goes on, you'll find your metabolism speeding up naturally, and you'll probably lose some weight due to that. Really, I doubt if you even truly need the diet pill hun. You've made a commitment to go to the gym and exercise, which is great, and to go on a diet--but not only that, but to do it with someone who can hold you accountable. It's up to you whether you continue taking the pill or not, but if you do, no it won't affect your growth in any manner. However, I would take heed to the warning label on the box, and proceed with caution if you do decide to continue taking it (again you really don't need it, your metabolism will speed up naturally and with the dieting and exercise you'll be doing, I think that you'll be able to drop the weight naturally without the help of any sort of diet pill.) Also, you're only 14. You've still got a lot of growing and maturing to do in these coming years. Watch what you eat and continue to exercise, and I think that you'll find yourself to be able to do just fine. I wish you the best of luck in your efforts!

Thank you!!
When I bought it and told my mom I am going to start taking it, she said that stuff like that could stunt your growth, since I am going through puberty as well, but I didn't believe it (due to the ingredients it says it has and stuff, I researched it and read reviews as well). However, when I read the label about being 18 or older, that's when I got scared.
Thank you for your advice. I am going to continue to take the pill. I don't know if I will have any true benefit from it, honestly. I bought the bottle with 84 capsules and until all 84 run out, I won't give up on it. I am not going to buy another bottle though unless I TRULY see that taking this pill actually had an effect on my weight loss performance.

Anyways, thanks for your support and help! I feel better now.

Medication generally doesn't stunt growth, those are usually rumours like the myth that lifting weights stunts growth. You should be fine and the health benefits of becoming healthier surely outweigh that anyway!
