View Full Version : Is Aeropostale "cool" where you live?

I'm curious, is Aeropostale "cool" where you guys live? The main brands that people around here wear are American Eagle, Abercrombie, Aero, and Hollister. Over the past year or two, people stopped wearing Aero clothes where I live... Only because Aero is now seen as the brand that nerds wear to be cool. lol I think that is pretty stupid to stop wearing clothes for that reason, but it's just the way it is around here. I haven't worn a shirt from Aero is a few years, but definitely not for that reason. Is Aero "uncool" where you guys like? I actually think Hollister is starting to be "uncool" as well here.
For the most part, American Eagle is the brand to wear right now. It has always been a popular brand, but most of the other brands seem to be going out of style because the "nerds" have started wearing them. So stupid, but it's whatever.
Now that I am not in high school anymore, I don't really follow the trends and just wear whatever I want, but I was curious to see if Aero was seen as uncool where you guys live too.

Where I live Aeropostale is the brand you wear if you want to look good, but not be thought of as a prep. At least that's how I see it.

All the ones you listed are incredibly popular here, just because it's expensive. As I said in another thread, that stuff is popular because it's an expensive brand name. If it was cheap, no one would wear it.

Yea around here everyone wears American Eagle and Aeropostale but most of the time ages 12-15/16 wear both then it kinda fades to mostly AE

I don't really know if it's "cool" here, but a lot of people around here, who are around my age and younger, wear that aeropostale shit.
I'm not really a fan of it.
It's not that I don't like aeropostale, I just don't give a fuck.

I've never heard of this brand. In my community, brands aren't really cool or uncool unless you're a sports person and you wear Nike or something. It's more just down to what each person likes, and it varies person to person, and social 'cliches' as well.

A lot of people still wear it here along with a lot of the other stores you mentioned, but I think all of them are sort of past their prime. I think everyone is looking for the next big thing to hit.

Heavy silver Necklaces seems to be the thing here in Liverpool - and Tattoos! The nearest I get to the American Eagle is I collect silver dollars. I have a Morgan Dollar (one ounce of pure silver), dated 1900 and almost un-circulated - which means it might have been in Wyatt Erp's pocket or the James Boys, or someone else of around that time. I also have a Gold Eagle, was worth $50 dollars once but is closer to £1200.00 - £1900.00 these days as the Gold Standard has risen since then and its a proof coin of 1895. Its my pride and joy cos its displayed in a clear plastic capsule and doesn't get finger-marks on it.

Aero is pretty much widespread around my town, yeah,u could say that it is still cool around here like AEOs,hollister and abercrombie&fitch but im waiting for SUPERDRY brand to be known because as of now SUPERDRY is just carried by Bauhaus (an expensive boutique) with few outlets.

I wouldn't say it is "cool" but more like it is "normal." It seems like everyone that I know have some Aero clothes in their wardrobe (including me). There's nothing cool or trendy about it though.

Hollister with Uggs are popular here with the ladies (along with muffintops and yoga pants >.>) and either Carhartt with work boots and camouflage hats or Nike/Under Armour for the sportsies. There is some Aeropostale (I used to wear it), but American Eagle is unheard of. Abercrombie is regarded as clothing for the gods here, mostly because the nearest mall is an hour away and most of their parents don't want to make the trip.
I, however, wear Aeropostale jeans because I can't tell a difference between cheap jeans. I don't like American Eagle, even though my mom keeps nudging me to wear it. I prefer Hilfiger, Converse, and Lucky.
I think Aero, A&E, Abercrombie, and Hollister will always be at least a little popular with teenagers.

I love Aeropostale my closet is like full of it. It is cool where I live but so are the other brands. I have them to, but more then half of my closet is full of Aeropostale. The rest is full of Hollister,American Eagle and a bit of A&F. But, Aeropostale and Hollister are the big ones where I live.

In the New England area, it worked like this as I went through grade school:
1. Aeropostale is what you wore at the end of elementary school and going into middle school when you could start fitting into their clothes
2. Then you moved onto American Eagle when everyone realized that Aeropostale was "uncool"
3. By high school, it became a mix of American Eagle, Hollister, and Abercrombie and Fitch (if you could afford it)
I go to college in the area now and those are still the 3 top brands that most people wear, AE being the most popular. Aeropostale has basically fallen by the wayside, and I've even heard people refer to it as "cheap". As for me, my wardrobe consists of a pretty good mix of all 3

No one wears Aero anymore in my area because old people wear it. I remember I started buying Aero in 6th grade to fit in with everyone else wearing it. Then, when 8th grade started, no one wore it anymore. All you saw people wearing was Hollister, and a little bit of American Eagle (meeeee, erryday!).
Now, all people wear is Hollister & American Eagle, besides those other brands which aren't as known. Aero is so out of the question, only elementary/middle school kids wear it.
I love American Eagle.

Aero is the cheapest of those brands. Thats why its 'uncool'
Once in a great while ill buy some stuff on the clearence rack, but I mostly get get my clothes elsewhere, and I like them more than alk that.

in NYC people wear it, but it isn't popular amongst teens really anymore.
AE is nice and simple and I like it. Hollister is played out IMO and I never liked A&F at all.
I'm more into urban outfitters, and so are most kids out here

Where I live, Aeropostale is for basically freshman in hi school, some 8th graders too. If you're a sophomore and still in aero then you are not cool.

Aero is really old; I remember it being popular when I was in middle school, but it has faded. So has Hollister and Abercrombie.
Now it's all VS Pink, UGG, North Face, Miss Me/Mek/Rock Revival/Big Star, Affliction/Archaic/Sinful... at least among the rich/popular/high-roller kids.

Nope. People around here wear Diamond, Supreme, Hundreds, Louis V, Gucci, and some other stuff. I go to a school with uniform, so I dress how the hell I want when out of school. Today, wore this:

Brands aren't as prominent in my location.
We worried about brands in like 7th-8th grade, but now it's just about how it actually looks. It doesn't matter if it's Abercrombie or Aero, if it looks bad, it looks bad.

I guess so. I don't really care. I wear what I want and don't wear what I want. I prefer shirts with pictures (or plain), and not words (like most of aero's shirts lol) so I personally don't really wear it that much.

I don't think anyone in my town even wears it, its mainly stuff from Tillys, Zumiez, and/or Forever 21. Maybe some Hot Topic here and there.
