Scars are tattoos with better stories. What's your take on this? I think...sure...depending on what kind of scars. The scar you got from climbing your very first tree? The one from your first mosquito bite? How about the one...with the knife...on you wrist? The one that you got on purpose. Look at your wrist. What does it remind you of? Mine reminds me of THAT time...huddled into a corner crying, slowly digging a knife into my flesh, trying to distract myself from the pain. This scar has a story...covered in pain, in torment. Why had they hurt you, why would they betray you...why? You blame yourself and the pain becomes unbearable. I have more than 5 scars on my left wrist, some barely noticeable, some are healing. They're not very big, either, but they're there. People ask me why, I reply with a shrug. It's not really their business. I feel so alone sometimes. But...even through the fog and the haze...I know I'm not alone...

I think that scars are a reminder of what you go through, whether they be good or bad. I mean, I have self harm scars, and I have other scars from falling from a tree, breaking bones etc and I don't class them as a bad thing. People have stopped asking about my scars because they just know, it doesn't really bother/shock them anymore. I think anything on a person's body is a thing of beauty and has it's individual purpose. Everyone has a scar, whether on purpose or not, so no, you're certainly not alone in that.

I agree scars are memories. They are memories of your self hatred. They are memories of your difficulties. They are memories of every thing you have gotten yourself through without a single help of another. Some people would say they are signs of weakness some would say they are signs of strength. You interpret your own scars your own way.

My self harm scars are the reminder of how strong I was during those time of unbearable pain. Although Im ashamed when people notice it and look at me with disapproval, at the back of my mind Im proud haha. I know Im strong in my own definition and standard.

I think the scars are definitely reminders of the struggles and everything that person has not only been through but survived. It also shows where that person started from and where they are now and how much progress and how much work it took to get there.
