I'm having horrible urges to cut, at the moment. I suppose I should go take a warm bath and try to go to bed.

It's good that you know you need to preoccupy yourself, and I'm just going to make a few suggestions of what to do other than taking a bath and going to bed. Distract your mind however you can, reading, watching tv or a movie, etc., are good methods of distraction. So is listening to music. I would also highly recommend taking up drawing/some other form of art and writing, which are healthy ways of getting your emotions out and coping with them. Talk to a friend about how you feel, or talk to us here. Those are just a few things you can do--there's plenty of other things you can do to distract yourself too, those are just a few suggestions. I hope you get to feeling better hun, and if you ever need to talk we're all here to help and support you! :hug3:

Thanks for all the suggestions. I draw/paint, and write a lot, actually. I have been for a few years. Sometimes, when the urges are really bad, nothing helps, though.
I've also found the writing whatever it is that's bothering me down and then burning it, helps alot. I learned that while in the hospital and thought it was brilliant.
