Yes! I think that a guy with eyeliner is one of the hottest things ever!

EDIT: Make that some guys... just saw a pic of a guy with eyeliner and it wasn't too pretty...

yes because i actually find men who display feminism quite sexy
i wish my boyfriend would wear some once in a while....
not only women wear makeup... some guys like rock singers wear it.. other may be homosexuals... or some wear it just for fun... either way makeup isnt just directly focused to women and in my opinion i think more men should wear it.

I mean like, sure, but I don't find a shit ton of make up (on any gender) really that attractive. That's personal preference though. Morally I think it's okay.

It's up to them. If they want to, then go ahead.
Personally, I wouldn't wear makeup though.

I think some guys look ok with eyeliner, but there's a really specific type of guy that can pull it off in a sexy way, without looking silly. In my opinion, anyway.

Yeah definitely but its like clothes, you have to do it right and different things suit different people (not just colours but what you are actually doing). I think guys look better if they stay subtle (so a bit of eyeliner, cover up, lip gloss or whatever) OR go all out for a look (along with the right clothes and stuff of course). I tend not to bother day to day although I can get away with wearing a bit of eyeliner at school but save stronger colours and eye shadow / mascara for "dressing up" (mainly because it annoys my dad).

I think it's ok for guys to wear make up, yeah, but I'm not all that big a fan of it. I never wear make-up, but I have nothing against guys who do. There's nothing really wrong about it, it's just a matter of personal preference.

Everybody should just be able to do what they want with their bodies :) Personally I think a little foundation under the eyes can be good for men to have - it's subtle and it covers tired eyes

For those posting pictures, facepaint is not make-up, if that's not obvious enough.

And no. Make-up is not for us manly men. Make-up is made to amplify feminine beauty, so for what reason we should wear make-up on a regular basis?

I'm not clear how you would differentiate between them. Both are cosmetics applied to the face to enhance or alter one's appearance. There is a long tradition in many cultures of both sexes using cosmetics for beauty or effect, and most 'manly men' you'll see in movies are going to be wearing makeup to enhance their appearance.

Besides, I never claimed to be a manly man :P

Facepaint purpose is not to enhance beauty or sex appeal(unless some people think camo warpaint is sexy), which should put it in an another category.

As for the culture one, I am well aware of it.

^ Yes, that's a dude. Also, my Avatar is a dude. :P

And for that last point, if you want sweat gleaming off your face, I don't think make-up will help you with that. And if for special effects(such as a man reliving the terror of war), that too is of another class of make-up.

We are talking about beauty enhancing make-up generally used by women. Amirite?

If not. Mah bad.

Facepaint purpose is not to enhance beauty or sex appeal(unless some people think camo warpaint is sexy), which should put it in an another category.

Face-paint = colour you put on your face. Make-up = cosmetics, which includes colour you put on your face. Reasons for putting colour on your face: entirely up to the individual.

Lead white face-paint was applied to the entirety of the face in the 18th century in Europe by both sexes along with red paint on the cheeks. This was entirely for reasons of fashion, beauty, vanity and sex appeal. Tanned skin was a sign of working classes and deemed unattractive, and this also acted as a concealer for blemishes.

The image you have used appears to be a Woodabe youth. From Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wodaabe#Beauty_ideal_and_Gerewol_festival):

Here the young Wodaabe men, with elaborate make-up, feathers and other adornments, perform the Yaake: dances and songs to impress marriageable women. The male beauty ideal of the Wodaabe stresses tallness, white eyes and teeth; the men will often roll their eyes and show their teeth to emphasize these characteristics. Wodaabe clans then join for the remainder of the week-long Gerewol: a series of barters over marriage and contests where the young men's beauty and skills are judged by young women

So face-paint, specifically for beauty.

^ Yes, that's a dude. Also, my Avatar is a dude. :P

I didn't know that but I always thought it was pretty.

Makeup- Cosmetics applied especially to the face usually used as an aesthetic to alter appearance.
Eye black- Any of various dark pigments applied under the eyes especially by athletes to reduce sun glare.

One for personal appearance the other used for the service it provides in this case eye black is used as sunlight or stadium lights can impair vision of an airborne ball.

Besides not all players use eyeblack :)

"Usually", so not always, nor is it limited to those purposes.
Other related uses for cosmetics - sun barrier, shine reducer.

Yep, so a type of make-up that stops glare.
L'Oreal matte primer (http://www.amazon.co.uk/LOREAL-STUDIO-SECRETS-MATTIFYING-PRIMER/dp/B005OQELQY/ref=sr_1_6?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1357772837&sr=1-6)

More traditional (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Menaji-Anti-Shine-Powder-10g-medium/dp/B004TW7TTA/ref=sr_1_8?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1357772837&sr=1-8). Wouldn't try that one in the locker room.

Nah but if you read the comments on amazon.com things like this explain where I'm coming from:
"Kids (http://www.amazon.com/Franklin-Industry-2759-Baseball-Accessories/dp/B000WEKMKW/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1357773036&sr=8-3&keywords=eye+black)feel like pros when they put the eye black on before playing flag football. "

It makes the kids feel good. It's like warpaint - its designed to make you look tough and scarey. Its about looks and aesthetics, at least in part, otherwise guys wouldn't be drawing designs like the player I posted above.

My point - masculinity is not affected by using make-up, and so you don't have to try to redefine it to exclude any use by men on that basis.

Nah, That's not what I am aiming for i have no problem with men wearing makeup and using it doesn't make them any less of a "man". Yeah, I guess you're right though my little brother uses it even though he plays flag football and dosen't know it's purpose he's just seen others use it and iv'e used it too. So yeah.

Too much, to me, is not okay but if you want to wear a lot, that's fine with me, do whatever you want. I'm not a fan of makeup. A little is okay, but I think it covers up true beauty, whether it's on a girl or boy.

Socially, it's unacceptable for guys to wear legit makeup. But you can do whatever you want, some will like it while others won't. I'm not a big fan of makeup. And in general, I hate when people wear to much. I believe makeup is there to help cover up blemishs and make your skin look better. I don't think it's good when you can tell someone is wearing a lo of makeup. And tbh, I've had to use a little make up for the past few days to cover up my acne problem I'm developing. I don't know what it's called, but its descent at covering it up. And actors have to wear makeup because of the lighting and such, not like they live normal life putting on makeup in the morning.

You obviously didn't read or understand the rest of the discussion on that point or you'd have referenced those arguments and addressed them with your own refutation.

No it isn't. Plenty of people wear it in public, and many put it on specifically to go out clubbing, including celebrities. If you qualify that to say "where I live it is socially unacceptable" I could well believe that.

Even though it is socially unacceptable apparently. You rebel :P

Again not true. You don't read the gossip mags (neither to I, but I know some girls who do ... -_-) but just recently there was something about various celebrities (I remember they included Zac Effron) who wear eyeliner and foundation out and about.

As you have illustrated yourself, you can stop before you look like a clown or a drag queen and still be wearing make-up.

I don't know why but I find it perfectly normal for a guy to wear makeup. But not the drag-queen kind of makeup, I'm talking about more natural makeup, like a foundation cream, concealer, skin-colored eyeliner and stuff like that, only to cover flaws and accentuate some face features, without looking obvious. The kind of makeup that is very subtile, yet looks very good.

Lunar

I don't see why not. I don't like stereotypes, and boys can wear all the make-up they want. I probably wouldn't want to date a guy that wears a ton of make-up, though. I wouldn't mind a bit of mascara.

I think it's more of depending on your location. It may be different where you live, but in San Francisco, it's not uncommon for me to see guys wearing makeup, and even dresses out in public.

I've worn eyeliner in the past. I plan on starting to wear it again soon. That's as far as I think I'll ever go for a casual day but I don't have any problem with men wearing it all, ie: foundation, eyeshadow, eyeliner, blush, mascara, lipstick/stain/gloss/liner, mascara, concealer, finishing powder, etc. It's his choice and I personally kinda like it 'cause it shows he has the balls to do what he wants.

Personally, I think no. I think makeup is supposed to be a womanly thing, and it should stay that way. Men age, and we should show our age. Age is a sensitive thing with women, and that's part of the reason I think they wear it. That, and to make themselves 'more attractive' which I think is bullshit. It took 6 months for me to see my girlfriend without makeup, and honestly, I loved it. Anyway, men shouldn't wear it. If women find their man attractive, it shouldn't be because of makeup, because I think makeup is a way of decieving people.
