Blaming the cat

Sometimes when I screw up and someone will see my scars or fresh cuts and I will blame it on my grandparent's cat. I was wondering if anyone else blamed an animal for an excuse.

iv often blaimed my cat, dog and some times just said iv fell onto the fence or something like that... there my main excusses but not many people see my fresh cuts or even my scars

Nope I haven't needed to. Only one person has actually seen my scars, this girl in my class while we had PE. Those ones were all perfectly in a line so panicking I told her that's just how my skin is. She said she wanted lines on her skin, I actually had to stop myself from laughing out loud.

Back when I use to self harm I would dig nails into my legs
Then when my group home would do checks I told them it was a mosquito bite
I don't think I've ever blamed my cuts on a cat.... Well maybe once or twice but I can't recall when I did this

I've blamed it on my dog more times than I can count, but the excuse I used the most was "oh you all know clumsy I am I fell into (insert example here)" and because I genuinely am that clumsy people never asked questions. I got injured every PE lesson and I get injured now - even though I don't do PE anymore - on a day to day basis.

I blamed my cat when my sister noticed my arm, but she didnt fall for it because she knows our cat wouldn't do that.

Otherwise I don't know what to say if the subject comes up.

I did once when I was at the doctor and my mom was there. I was caught off guard and didn't know what to say, so I said one of the cats was laying next to me in bed and playing with the sheet every time I moved and got me. My mom went along with it for about a month, but she never believed it.

Yup, used that one all the time, I used to actually make some of mine look like the cat had done it so the excuse was more believable - only did that when people started to get suspicious though...

And I've said that I've walked into the walls, blamed it on being drunk and that I couldn't remember where it came from etc...

I have blamed my cat, dog, rabbit
Its funny because i don't have any pets.
But anyone who is worried about coming up with good excuses unless it's someone close to you they will accept any excuse you give them to avoid awkwardness.

I always blame this rose bush that's by my house. I'm already clumsy, they just need to believe that I'm really clumsy around that bush. It explains a lot of them.

I used the cat excuse a lot because I would always play around with my cats and they were always mean so it was a good excuse until one of my friends stole my journal and realized that I was actually cutting so now I cant use the excuse.

i used to do it when i first started cutting as the scars didn't go very deep
