Yeah, I suppose so.
One of my cousins was like that, as he's gotten older though, it's caught up to him, as he's gained weight.

Ya just sounds like hormones and curiosity. And for your other question, sounds normal as well, I'm sort of like that too, I'm not really skinny but I can eat tons and I never gain weight.

I would say if to try and do it with a really close friend, who you can talk to without embarrassment, and someone who you can trust.
