As a Christian male with a Christian father masturbation might be hard to talk about. Is there away that I can subtly bring it up or something like that?

Why do you want to bring up masturbation with your father? Any questions you have can almost certainly be answered here.

Agreed, why do you want to bring it up to your father? Truth be told, that would be one awkward conversation. Not only for you, but for him. If you have any questions about masturbation, you can search the forums and most likely you will your answers.

If you can't, then feel free to PM me. I am always open to answer any questions.

The Christian teaching on masturbation is that it is morally wrong because it violates the purpose of the sexual act (which is procreation) according to the Natural law. The only morally permissible sexual act is procreative intercourse between a marrired man and a woman. Everything else is seen as morally impermissible because according to the Natural law no other sexual act achieves the purpose of our sexual nature and our bodies.
That is the official teaching by the way, not an opinion.

Ive have studied the Bible long and hard and talked to many godly friends about masturbation. ive come to the conclusion that its a sin. As a christian you should ask God to help you resist the temptation to mbate.

There is no reason to bring up "masturbation" to your father, I think the topic to be brought up is when you have a girl friend, and ways to be safe and stuff like that, but I think masturbation is a thing for people to discover by themselves or the help of their friends... I would stay just stick to here and ask as many questions as possible, because they will definetly be answered.

It's ridiculous to think of it as a sin. It's a private act that does your health some good and harms no one. I would never want to talk about masturbation with my dad, it's best left as one of those unspoken things IMO.

Honestly, just ask the questions here or even PM me (I don't mind) and ask. Because you can get advice and answers that are likely better on VT than even from your dad lol.

Its stupid to say thats a sin! Sure its not like you have the chance to have sex at the time its no different than if it comes out in a wet dream?!
As good old Mrs Brown said " if you dont play the game dont make the rules" so if priests and all say that its a sin what right have they to comment on something they cant even do?
But no dont bring it up with your dad cause he doesnt need to know and itd be very awkward

its not a sin, what i have learned is that its not a good idea, because it can cause you to get to into it to the point that you dont want to be with friends and all that. so its not the act itself its the consequences that can come from it. and the fact that your doing an act of self pleasure is not right,

dont get me wrong here ive been there done that. but its just thats how they see it. i still Masturbate and it doesnt kill me or make me a bad person, i just cant do it like more than i should or to the point that thats all i want to do. and its better than having sex before marage. which is something i believe we should do.

I would advise against talking about this with your dad. Also, if you read some of the other threads on VT youll find there isn't just one Christian view of masturbation. Catholic and Mormom churches forbid it but most Protestant chuches accept it.
