Okay so I read somewhere that being an overweight male makes you a "late bloomer". That has proven true for me. I am 14 years of age with a high voice and a small penis. Is this happening to anyone else overweight?

Well that's just simply incorrect. The only truth in that is that having a healthy diet and exercise can ensure the puberty progresses as thoroughly and quickly as possible, but being a bit underweight/overweight should only slightly hinder the process, but not enough to be a early/late bloomer.

Weight means nothing for this. Puberty will happen in line with hormones regardless of weight. Granted, penis size can be effected. Your penis can appear smaller because of excess fat, but in actuality, it isn't smaller... losing the weight will fix that problem.

Its not true. While being extremely overweight can sometimes build up fat around the penis which can make it look slightly smaller but it wouldn't really make a massive difference. You are a later bloomer, possibly but it really doesn't relate to being over weight.

as far as im aware, there's nothing that connects puberty to your weight. it's probably just a coincidence.

I heard that's true for obese boys. Not necessarily for a little bit overweighted ones. With girls it's different though.
You might be just a little bit late like I am.

Being an overweight male isn't a late bloomer , I am quite overweight and I actually started puberty and my voice broke earlier than the usual age, and having a small penis is just normal , the ones with a huge penis are just lucky!.

I know it isn't relevant, but weight can affect puberty- but only if you're severely underweight (usually because of anorexia) as it stop your body from producing certain hormones or something

I had heard the suggestion that the opposite was true - that being overweight encouraged puberty to start sooner.

Weight can affect some parts of puberty according to doctors. However, I'm quite overweight and I was one of the first in my primary school to start puberty so it hasn't really affected me

I'm quite overweight too and hit puberty early too.

That's not true at all, your probably not overweight and it just feels like it. But weight is not a factor in puberty

I don't think your weight is the entire reason you are probably just a late bloomer

Very incorrect lol. I started puberty when I was 10.

Weight has nothing to do with it.
