To be honest, guys are completely different than girls. And just like every girl is different, every guy is different, if that's what you're asking.

Maybe get to know them, but try not to come on too strong because that can weird them out.

There are horny guys out there who would happily use you for experimenting or just to get off. If that is all you want then that's cool, but you are talking about dating which sounds like you want a deeper relationship, so I mention it just so you don't get into something and get hurt.

Starting out with friendship worked great for me, and I'd always recommend just getting to know people and putting yourself out there. This could mean joining local LGBT support groups either online or in person, for example.

It also really depends how your local society is towards LGBT people, and whether you are out as bi. If all the gay/bi guys are hiding, it makes it a lot harder than if they are out and you know you can chat them up without getting a bad reaction.
