So I found online the other day, not sure how old it is, but this article called I'm Christian Unless You're Gay, and I think it is absolutely brilliant.

I loved it. I am a Christian. This means that yes, I do view homosexuality as something that is wrong. But I don't see it as something different than the things I do. I've had pre-marital sex. I've stolen gum for the store. I've lied to my dad. Big deal. I'm not a bad person. Gay people aren't bad people. That of course is just my view, and I know most of you view it differently, and I completely respect that. I support my gay and lesbian friends 100 percent. They know my stand and respect me and we can love eachother and live harmoniously. I really think that that is all my purpose as a Christian is. To love. Not condemn.

This is how I feel Christianity should work, and thankfully it does work like that for a great many.

Christianity needs more voices like this to counteract the noisy bigots who are totally shameless about using religion to justify their own ends, whether it is oppressing minorities or as a means of furthering their power within their community.

I still view homosexuality as wrong in the eyes of God but as a Christian I am okay with people regardless. Just respect my views and I respect yours. Hate mine? I am not a fighter, I walk off... I feel we all do mistakes but are too different. I am okay with homosexuals just not their sexual choice. But I have some homosexual friends and they are okay with me and my views.

You know it's actually a small minority of Christians that are against gays? Don't put all of them in one group, not all of them deserve it.

I didn't say Christians in general One of my best friends, who is propably one of the most accepting optimists ever, is a christian. I was talking about the "christofascists" fit the two words together. I am not saying all christians are fascist anti gay racists, and vice versa.
