There's a mod installed on gov which I find really useful, you can select an area of text within a post by dragging the mouse over, then a pop up "Quote" button appears and you can just quote that snippet of the text.

Is this available on vb3, would you consider it, it's pretty cool :)

hmm. that sounds like a decent idea.

What’s the name of the mod?

if it’s compatible with this version of vB, I could see it as a possibility. However, I think it’s just as easy to use the quote or multi quote feature, but maybe that’s because I’ve never seen this. :P

It's much easier, and like a short cut. Instead of having to quote the whole post and then deleting the bits that don't apply you just highlight the bit that you want to quote.

This seems pretty cool, I like it. :)

I think it would be useful, especially if you only want to quote one sentence out of a 3 large paragraph post.

It would be great for debates and things like that. However I don't know if it would clash with the quote notification mod installed. IDK....

Anyway, it sounds like an good thing to have. Not a necessary thing. But a good thing none the less.

Don't think it would clash, but I may be wrong. We won't know unless it's actually added *shrugs*

I don't think it's a bad idea at all. If it's available for vB 3.8.x and doesn't have any major security risks and/or bugs I would be open to consideration.

Although I don't necessarily disagree with this, wouldn't it just be easier for people to apply the BBCode tags themselves?

...not really, no. Here's an example screen shot using a random post from my diary as an example:-

Just selecting a portion of text by mouseover has caused the pop-up Quote button (shown on the right of the image) to appear, resulting in just the selected text being quoted, with links back to the original post in the usual way, in the quick reply box.

Sounds like a good idea, but it's not a matter of life and death if we choose not to get it.

The modification is for version 3.8.x
I use it on my forum and it works perfectly. Doesn't clash, either.
However, I am not using postbit legacy, rather the horizontal postbit.
Still, I don't think there should be an issue.

Then this would be a perfect addition. I support

I like it. I don't know what more to say, I just think it would work.

Good for quoting one specific part of a post. Would we still have access to the quote button and such?

Yes.
This just adds another quote button after you highlight text in a post. The original quote button will still be there.
