ok so this is not to be rude or disrespectful to the person who made the rules and the enforcers of the rules. now it have come to my attention that the rules list is VERY long and not many people read them I try and I have skimmed but i'm dyslexic and its a pain in my ass... now I understand to make this a safe and helping environment we need rules. I understand but cane we please get rid of the stupid ones like the contact info in our signature? cause honestly it should be my choice if I want people to contact me.... or in the contact info make more options for us to put in usernames that not just Skype or what ever.. I have plenty friends on here and its hard to tell them to talk to me on here cause the second I do I have infraction and my rep goes down... I'm on here to help my fellow teens around the world not to cause harm or anything but y'all make my rep look horrible! so to review we should make different rules (not as strict) open more options to put more contact info in and give us a little more freedom of what to talk to.... oh and a app for this would be cool! and again no disrespect to any of the faculty or owner of this website I have always loved it and always will thanks!

The rules on giving out contact details in signatures or elsewhere are there for the protection of most members. This is not a dating site. There are people out there that join sites like this in the hope of finding people to cam, sexually, with. The rules are there to make this more difficult.

The reason why don't allow contact details in signatures is because guests can see signatures. This means anyone who visits the site can see your contact details and unfortunately not everyone is here for the right reasons so they could take your contact information and try to solicit you.
The reason why we don't allow it via visitor message is for the same reasons, minimizing the gap of risk. Even people who sign up to these forums aren't always here for the right reasons.
Our rules are here only for the protection of VT members. While I can sympathise with you as I too am dyslexic and reading a huge wall of text can be difficult for sometimes. The rules are as detailed as they are for your protection and to stop "loopholes" from occurring. I know its a pain and I've only read them cover to cover a few times as when I was new I referenced them and asked questions to staff. I now know them pretty well. My only advice I guess, is if your not sure, do a search in the FAQ or PM a moderator and they'll help you.
Again the rules are only here for the protection of you, and members in general.

I agree with what’s been stated above. We don’t have the rules to make it harder for you, we have them to make it safer for you.
And I’m sure that sounds cliche and everything, but it’s really the reason why they’re there. We want you to be safe here, we want you to feel like this is a secure environment and all.
And posting contact information all over the site will not help that in any way. Not only are we not a dating site as Nick said, but we’re not a site with the primary purpose of finding other teens to talk to offsite. We’re a teen help site, and that’s really what VT should be used for.
Once you get 100 posts, (assuming it’s appropriate and all), you can PM people. You can contact anyone at any time if they provide offsite contact as well. This should be plenty of “freedom” for you, and everyone else here.
You’re not going to cause any harm if you have contact info in your signature, sure. But there are plenty of people out there who would cause harm if this was allowed. So we have to take precautions here, it’s just what is done.
Also, there is an app called Tapatalk that works with these forums, so that solves that.
To sum up: no, you won’t be allowed to have contact in signatures - but it’s for your own security here. If you have any more questions, always feel free to contact any moderator or administrator - we’re always here to help you. :)

That is the main reason for that rule.
Unfortunately, and this goes for any site of this kind, some people are attracted to the site as they see it as means to meet people to webcam with (sexually) and exchange explicit photos with. Seeing as the majority of the site's users are children, that is unacceptable. To make it more difficult for people to achieve that, we try to limit means to attaining contact information.

well it seems kind of ridiculous cause if they were to add me on lets say a web caming app and they did try to solicit there is such thing as blocking them... I mean in my location I can put my exact city and it would then be easy to find me but no I put texas or the area of texas I am from cause the population of that area is millions and meaning they would not find me if it ere to come to that... and that there are teens on there looking to cam (sexually) it then sucks for the guys like me that want to keep up with their friends from that have helped them through rough times and that when they delete this we cant talk after... idk it ust doesn't seem right... I even talked to my step dad about this (witch is a lawyer) and he thinks that there are other things in the system that yall should be strict about too if it were just the signature then there are other wyas of finding their information..... I was a visitor for a while and I managed to get at least emails that then led to other contact info so to me it seems if you get strict on one side of rules you should be strict on all.. sorry if that was hard to keep up with

First of all the contact information is for your safety and Everyone else'. The reason that rule is specifically in place especially in signatures is because people whom are not registered to this site see your signature. So let's just say you have your email address in your signature and someone will ill nature intentions. This person can look you up through different social networking sites as well as instant messengers, and who's to say that the person tracking you down isn't a creep? The staff can protect you on the site, its our duty to do so. Instant messenger usernames and email addresses of any kind as well as contact information to use outside of the site are Not to be displayed publicly. That rule is absolutely never going to change.
Being strict in order to keep everyone safe and to keep this place enjoyable for everyone to use it as the original intentions were made for, I think is worth it. If you choose not to read the rules, the staff will remind you. It's not our fault you didn't read the rules, there's just many reminders, one being in the welcome pm sent and then in the FAQ. They're very important and if people decide that they won't heed our suggestions and the rules set in place, then they'll find themselves in trouble. We don't just make up rules and pull them out of our asses to see how you'll react, they're thoroughly thought through and discussed.
