How to achieve having a flat stomach?
genetics
low bmi
Some people don't get to have a 'flat' stomach due to their body shape, perhaps because they have a more concave lumbar region which pushes their tummy forwards. In puberty the changes of the pelvis can correct this attitude somewhat, but will also lead to an increase in fat deposits around the tummy. Its a sad fact but some guys will find flat stomachs come naturally while others might have to work really hard to achieve the same thing.
You'll only approach a flat tummy if you reduce your body fat. If you want definition you'll need to work your abdominal muscles out as discussed in other threads, but to reduce body fat you simply need to reduce your food intake and increase your exercise so that you are 'burning' more calories than you take in.

1. Low bodyfat
2. Low bodyfat
sorry if it seem patronising, but it come from having a low bodyfat - hence the saying - abs are made in the kitchen.
Fat is stored there to protect internal organs, it's the last place where you will loose fat from. Workouts claiming to burn fat from specific places are normally bullcrap, with a few exceptions. What you can do is when you do cardio, wear a lifting belt back to front to keep your belly warm - this promotes fat burn.
Contrary to popular belief, doing crunches, situps etc. does not burn fat, just strengthens and builds muscle leaving the fat untouche. if you're doing situps but no diet, then your abs'll just get bigger but no burn any extra fat in that location. Also movements where your moving your body is extremely bad for posture - best thing for abs conditioning wise is hanging leg raises or planks.
Hope this helps

^ That's some good tips, anyways the main point is: Consume more calories, than what you eat, workout. Gym is great for building some muscle, and getting rid of that fat. It's also alot more fun than running outside day after day, or doing boring cardio.

Diet. As basic and obvious as it may sound, it's the best way. Watch what you are eating, stick to a healthy eating plan, stay away from junk food and soft drinks. That, along with some cardio/core exercises 2-3 times a week and you will get the results you are after.

you can do all the "CORE" exercises in the world and not burn near as much body fat as you would if you did squats, benchpresses, bent rows and dead lifts!

Blokeman didn't say to "do all the "CORE" exercises in the world" now, did he? What he said was diet, and as a secondary suggestion a bit of core will help, which is true.
You are also incorrect if you think you are going to lose significant fat by exercise compared to diet, so again to ignore the key point which was sound advice and instead push your favourite exercise routine (as always) is actually pretty bad advice on your part.
Honestly you're like a skeezy pusher with your insistence on your favourite training routine. All you do by posts like this is undermine good advice: bear in mind the poster you are disagreeing with this time is a qualified fitness trainer, so as far as I'm concerned having someone like that contributing to this forum is a lot more valuable that the bro science we see a lot of around here.

(LOL You didn't even understand what I meant, you took what i sad as a chance to argue!
1) I never said he said "do all the "CORE" exercises in the world" now, did I?
No I simply infferred a well known fact you can do all the core exercises in the world and they won't burn near as much bodyfat as you would if you where working the large muscles of the body!
What he said was diet, and as a secondary suggestion a bit of core will help, which is true.

(2) I NEVER said diet wasn't important,as a matter of fact I never meantioned diet at all, because I agree with him on the importance of diet, but you want to be all SANCTIMONIOUS,and ignore the FACT I was not pushing a routine of any kind just stating the fact you can burn more bodyfat by working the larger muscles of the body, then just concentraining on the waist alone. Please learn to read something and think about it before YOU jump to conclusions)

(3) It very clear you didn't grasp what i was saying, and you are just going off half-cocked and being reactionary!)

Cardio is great for burning fat, and you can't really target areas effectively so cardio is great.

Which is a great point, but you did single out that comment.

You ignored that point and singled out the one you wanted to attack, which was precisely why your post was misleading.
but you want to be all SANCTIMONIOUS,
I'm sorry if it seems like that. I'm not claiming superiority, I am defending a third party whose post I felt was superior to yours.
just stating the fact you can burn more bodyfat by working the larger muscles of the body, then just concentraining on the waist alone.
You didn't say that in your original post.
Please learn to read something and think about it before YOU jump to conclusions)
Instead of being patronising, perhaps you should work a bit harder on your posts so that they say what you claim you meant the first time round.
(3) It very clear you didn't grasp what i was saying, and you are just going off half-cocked and being reactionary!)
On the contrary, it's very clear you didn't say what you intended to say, and I already explained why that was a problem.
The only reason I posted was because I'd like to see is that you try to respond to threads so you don't disparage perfectly good advice, intentionally or not, and end up derailing the thread. You've made some perfectly sound points in your response to me: if you'd included those explanations the first time we wouldn't be having this conversation now.

Look i'm not going to argue with you!
The simple fact is I made one statement, that was not an attack on anything, and "you" are the one that started an arguement claiming I was disparaging advice, when i simply stated that you could burn more bodyfat from working larger muscles!
Now this as far as I am concerned is the end of this argument, because i'm not going to pander to you're emontional need to blow a statement out of proportion and make it into something it was not!

You sir, are a legend. And, i thank you kindly. Never wanted to cause an argument, just wanted to help out where i could, as i am a trained professional, and fully qualified in this field. No absolute expert i will admit, but have successfully trained my clients early in my career, and have a great job doing this. Thank you again, Jimmy.

Avoid junk & fast foods and go on vegetarian foods if you want to lose your belly fat.
Do regular cardio exercises specially jogging and swimming daily for at least 30 minutes.
Also take green tea or lemon water at morning with empty stomach.
