I'm a girl and I got neg-rep for posting in the girl's forum. It seemed like a moderator did it, but I didn't get a PM explaining anything. After casual browsing if the site, I think I know who did it.
Can anything be done?

Yes, you can PM one of the admins if you feel it was unfair, and they'll remove it if they agree.
And/or you could PM the moderator who did it, and ask them why they did it.

contact Scarface or ImCoolBeans if they agree with you then they'll remove it.

My original concern was that the comment appeared to be "moderatorish." I know I've been hit a few times for "backseat" modding. When I come across a guy posting in the girl's forum, I hit the "report post" button and let someone in authority take control of it.
If you are a mod, my apologies, but I would have expected the post to be deleted or whatever.
I can assure you it wasn't a moderator. Though we're allowed to give and receive reputation like anyone else, we don't neg rep those who break the rules.
Likely, it was done by a user who wants to act like a moderator, and instead of posting telling you that you can't double post, or bump a thread, or whatever it may be, they take it into their own hands.

If they have not done it before they would be given a formal warning first, but on a second offense they would be infracted. However, there isn't really a rule barring "posting like a staff member". It could be seen as contempt towards staff, but in general it is an unwritten rule of this site (unless I'm forgetting something).
