There already is an app. It's called "Tapatalk".

If things were as simple as 'making an app'...

It has been discussed in the past and it was conncluded a bad idea for several reasons.

1) Time and Effort--It would take a lot of time and effort to create a virtual teen app, when realistically only a handful of people would use it.
2) Cost--It costs money to make an app and all that technical side of stuff. We're a non profit organisation, we don't make any money and we get no funding, someone pays for VT out of their own pocket.
3) Approval--GovTeen tried to make an app and it was rejected due to the puberty 101 section and other stuff (I think) so chances are this wouldn't go through either.

TapTalk is a good app and works well with VT.

It would be cool but too many things to consider when it overall isn't really needed.

I can access this site just fine from my phone (except for the chat), there's really no need for an app.

Unfortunately, programs don't write themselves. "Making an app" takes months of programming and testing.
I could make one, if I wanted to. But I don't have that kind of time -- after all, I am just a student who has work to do, just like many of us here.
And in addition, there would need to be several versions(iThings, Android, and Windows phone), which takes even more time.
Then you have the vendors' application marketplaces, which likely prohibit our content.

So I'm sorry, but I'm afraid no can do.

You can access Virtual Teen via an App called Tapatalk. It costs a few bucks and it works pretty good. Unfortunately you can't send private messages and visitor messages with it so its pretty limited but as far as browsing threads and replying to them its perfect.

Well VT is a non profit website and making apps costs a lot of money not to mention time. And only a few thousand people would use it so even if it was a dollar, it would never pay for its self. Plus... there is tapatalk.

A few thousand people might be worth it. But it's actually only a few dozen, I'm afraid.

There is an app called Tapatalk which Virtual Teen supports and uses. However you will not be able to check PM's on the app due to a bug. Virtual Teen will not and can not make their own app due to it being so complicated. If you want an app, Tapatalk is the way to go.

I can access this site fine from my iPod touch, an app would be a good idea, but as said before, it would be expensive to maintain and time-consuming for people

Did you read the thread at all? :P
There is a forum app called Tapatalk that VT is compatible with. It isn't an exclusive VirtualTeen app; but it's specifically for forums so you won't have to use a crappy mobile version of the site on your phone's browser.

It may be the Safari browser that is on the Apple devices. I can also access this site fine on my iPhone (minus the chatroom), without the crappy mobile version. I had never even seen the mobile version of this website until I selected it on my PC.

I think its some you have to choose when you first log onto this site. I don't think it ever auto loads onto the mobile theme. For most phones it is usually enough to work without the mobile theme. Sometimes it is easier to work on the mobile theme. However I rarely log onto VT with my mobile now-a-days.

The chatroom isn't accessible due to the extra costs it would involved in making the chatroom available on mobile. The chat costs a lot to begin with and extra to have a mobile version. If it were free to have the mobile version then I think it would be allowed.
