I have been on wellbutrin since the 26th of november. My severe depression has gotten much better but I feel the drug is making me extremely stupid. Often, I have problems finding words and talking about a complete thought. I trail off all of the time and feel like a complete idiot. People have commented on my knowledge and ability to express a knowledge and thoughts clearly, especially in presentations and debating, as well as general conversation. I've always been a good communicator but lately it feels like I am mentally handicapped or something. It makes me dopey most of the time and dread having a conversation with anybody.

Does anybody else taking wellbutrin experience this side effect? Is there anything that helps with this side effect?

no i do not take this drug however i can see it possibly being a side effect as it is a drug you are taking everyday. Only thing to do is discuss with your doctor, tell him you like the way it helps with depression but you dont like feeling slow or 'handicapped', perhaps a smaller dose would help with this? anyway, we dont have medical degrees, so i suggest you discuss with your parents and doctor.

Ask your doctor to lower your doseage. Or just tell your parents about it.
