I have taken interest in Anonymous lately for some reason. I know they are very liberal and for the equality of LGTB, but what are they like in religion? Are they very secular?
Anyways, what do you think about Anonymous?

They are to religion as an excrement-flinging monkey is to rational discourse. They are to the weak as a playground bully is to a nerd. They are, in short, socially-stunted, maladapted, petty, hurtful, self-important vigilantes who have no respect for the law and cause harm that far outweighs any benefits they may provide.

In other words they are like cowboys/outlaws and I guess you can say the internet is the wild west
I do respect that they attacked the westboro baptist church from protesting the sandy hook funerals

I find "Anonymous" pretty respectable actually. If the government of a Country starts obstructing their human rights or financial corruption, "Anonymous" will plaster their protests all over the place by hacking into the government's websites.
Over the years, they have successfully managed to hack into over 20 government websites and have also voiced out many of the people's thoughts that they are oppressed people under the government.
Of course, there has been notorious cases of "Anonymous" members hacking into innocent Social-Networking Users but "Anonymous" never claims they are responsible for this. Their motives are politically motivated and will in no way attack an innocent person who has not been responsible for the political actions that "Anonymous" frowns upon.
"Anonymous" is a bit like Batman actually. They come behind a mask, and use their skills for the greater good of the Internet. They draw controversy for what they do and their actions of the Internet has been so influential that TIME has one ranked them top on their list. The FBI and CIA are on their asses because they're so "dangerous".
I support their actions against the Westboro Baptist Church, but I will no longer support them, should they ever take action against innocent members of the Social Networking Sites. Not as one member of course - as a whole.
They are a legion after all.

Anonymous now, is composed of wannabe teenager hax0rs who use LOIC and then brag about it to their buddies and buy v for vendetta masks to prove their allegiance :)
They aren't doing anything really. But everyone is scared of them.
I'd say the majority would be atheist though.
GRANTED there are a few legitimate 'anonymous' members who can actually hack and not do crappy SQL injections anyone can learn to do, but the majority are as I stated above. But they stay anonymous and don't go buying masks.

I think they portray themselves as secular. It's possible that the members are religious, but can separate their personal faith from their uh, work. So collectively, secular but I'm not comfortable saying all of them are.

I definately respect Anonymous and want them to succeed and grow
I'd compare them to Jimmy Hopkins from Bully as they're pretty much an anti-hero
I should probably put a more accurate comparison but whatever

Kudos to them though, they have good morality in certain points. They've leaked and protected a drugged and gang rape victim's video, when the whole entire town, everyone, the cops, the mayor even, covered it up and victim shamed her. All because the ones that assaulted her and did this, was their pride and joy, football team.
They've forced that town to take action. Good on them.

Yeah. They also responded furiously to China's human rights violations.
As by now, they successfully managed to hack and bring down over 400 Chinese Government Websites, and proclaim their motive to bring down the great FireWall of China.
If they really do that, I'll be impressed.

that's only a few members though, who own botnets and are actually good 'hackers'. the majority just sit their in their masks and masturbate all day.

You've been watching too much mainstream media, first of all there is no organization called anonymous, and second anonymous are mostly pedo psychopaths who enjoy looking at pictures of gore, and most of them are racist and are against gays, and women.

Do you see how stupid you sound?

Anonymous are a joke, it's funny how serious some of you take these people.
They don't really care about real politics, they just want to be rebellious teenagers.
I've been in that 'world' for a while, they are mostly just 14 to 20 year old men who use anything as an excuse to do shitty LOIC raiding.
yeah anonymous and 4chan
Anonymous originates from 4chan and the average 4channer hates Anonymous.

I feel like "rebellious teen" is used for any teens who want to change something about the world. Anonymous is definitely a good thing and definitely not a joke
