Now I don't understand it either but people have told me they are a group that basically controls everything. I think they are supposed to be all the wealthy and powerful people in the world or America and they control EVERYTHING from the media to who becomes President. That's all I know.

I heard that they were a Nazi secret society, developing the unimaginable for the Germans. It is said that they developed Die Glock (The Bell in German), a teleporter, but it didn't work and was radioactive and several scientists died from radiation poisoning, and the project was halted. It is said that they also tried to develop energy weapons (from what I heard plasma/laser/lightning bolt shooting weapons).

ok its the symbol on the back of a dollar bill (not sure which one) all the secret society bullshit and stuff like that are conspiracy theories and are most likely not true

Protip: if you don't understand something, see if wikipedia has a "simple English" page for it.

No problem.

Now, though, I would recommend reading the actual English article. The Simple English article has some worrisome inaccuracies. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illuminati

well arn't all movies of this type mix shades of truth with fact that what makes them interesting but as far as the Illuminati there is a real organization that controls the monetary system of not only the USA but other countries as well with widespread political influence. so does it matter if it's called the Illuminati or anything else. it does exsist. Galileo was not an illuminatus. The Bavarian Illuminati was founded hundreds of years after his death. People like him (religious men of science) were certainly seen as the inspiration for the illuminati, and it is possible he would have been an illuminatus had he the opportunity.

But yes, SE Wiki is phenomenally useful, but can also suffer from Wiki Vandalism due to being less visible (and therefore less-quickly corrected) than the regular English wiki.

I'm not buying this whatsoever without any kind of real proof. I don't believe in conspiracy theories.

The "Illuminati" name as people know it today is used for people who love action and thriller movies, and sheep who love drinking koolaid. Yes, it's interesting, but without proof...it's fake.
